where was this picture taken? Anybody?
Could it be during the filming of Magical Mystery Tour ? If so that would be Sept 1967.
I don’t recognize the clothes but the hair and mustaches seem to fit that time.
Are they in front of the same wall that was in the movie?
And are those Adidas that John is wearing?

On second thought, wasn’t John wearing those pants in the Strawberry Fields Forever video? The filming started in Jan 30, 1967 and into Feb.

I think the mustaches are more Pepper era than the filming MMT era. And yes, John is wearing Adidas.
He is also wearing another pair here:

Yes I would say the pic is closer to Peppers time than MMT.
They filmed the vid for Strawberry Fields at Knole Park, for comparison I found a different pic of the same original posted and some of the House And Gardens.
Not saying that is where it was taken, just kickin some ideas. I couldn’t find a side court pic.

Taken on 28 February 1967 by Henry Grossman during a photoshoot at Ringo’s house, Sunny Heights.
They are stood on the paved area at the bottom of the right-hand stairs down from the house (you can just see edge of the doors in the right-hand stairs that the left-hand stairs don’t have).

The Beatles Christmas Show that took place at the Astoria in Finsbury Park between 24 December 1963 and 11 January 1964 (a total of 30 performances over 16 nights with some obvious days off).
As it was Chrimble, the Beatles would do short sketches between musical acts, as an echo of a pantomime.
John is “Sir Jasper”, the villain; Paul is “Fearless Paul”, the hero; while George is “the girl in distress”; and Ringo is, erm, “special effects”.
Sir Jasper kidnaps the girl in distress and ties her to the railway tracks (which never happened in any proper early Western) with Fearless Paul swooping in at the last minute to rescue her. When something like snow was called for, Ringo would throw “snowflakes” over them.
It was a bizarre idea that didn’t really work. The sketches weren’t great because the Beatles didn’t really rehearse, and the dialogue couldn’t really be heard for the screaming fans. Which didn’t stop Brian putting on Another Beatles Christmas Show at the end of 1964.
John led the way in saying no to their being in Brian’s 1965 Christmas Show.
