At 2:21 in Old Brown Shoe someone in the background yells “hey” who sounds like Ringo, is it Ringo or am I losing my touch? On second thought it’s more likely that it’s John… but I’d still like to know for sure…
Sounds like a ringo to me!

Ringo’s not credited for backing vocals though… it could just as easily be John…
That sort of thing doesn’t usually get a credit.
He definitely does the yell after the solo in Hey Bulldog and he doesn’t have a credit for that!

That was Ringo? Huh, you learn something new every day…
It just seemed kind of out of character for Ringo to randomly yell out in the middle of a song…
and it sounds like Ringo, but then again, I thought the backing vocals on Brainwashed were Ringo so what do I know

Seems like something he would do on a george song.
Why would it make a difference that it was a George song though?
Gah I don’t even know

This is probably a stupid question, but how did the people who came up with the ‘Paul is dead’ theory know what songs played backwards sounded like? Can you play a record backwards? And did the people who came up with it play every Beatles song backwards until they found the ones they used to ‘prove’ the theory? Why???

Well, I don’t know how they did it either, but people do all kinds of silly things to prove a silly point…
On seeing the discussion above I revisited Old Brown Shoe , and I suppose it was John doing the “hey!”
The funny thing is that when I searched the song on Genius, trying to find some information–I got none–the search box also showed a song called “John Lennon ”because its lyrics feature the song title!

Firstly, @Getbackintheussr, it is important to remember that when PiD myth first emerged, we didn’t have all the “clues” we now have. Things have been added over the years.
Consider it like someone here suggests a thread about Beatles references to the weather, people go “Ooo! Interesting…” and pile in with their own suggestions. A similar thing happened with PiD, the suggestion was made, and those that bought the idea went off hunting for more evidence.
Can you play vinyl records backwards? Yes, quite easily. I’d have liked to find a video showing it with a Beatles song, but couldn’t so here is someone doing it with Queen:
All it takes is a finger.
BTW, have you read Joe’s article on PiD? If not, it might interest.

It’s a double-tracked lead vocal from John, @50yearslate, with John and Paul doing the harmony vocals, and George backing vocals.

They link to a number of things, half of those Tony Sheridan tracks have nothing to do with the Beatles. Also, ‘Please Please Me ‘ plays ‘Love Me Do ‘ for whatever reason.
