Ooo, just thought of a bleeding obvious one, @Wigwam! Who was John’s last proper concert appearance with?
Elton!
And I know all three of the others have shared a stage with him as well.

Did the US releases affect the UK releases. I’ve heard that I Call Your Name was only left off A Hard Day’s Night because it was included on The Beatles Second Album and Don’t Let Me Down was only left off Let It Be because it was included on Hey Jude , is this true.

No, @Dark Overlord, apart from being a source of annoyance. After all, there are many songs they grudgingly gave Capitol early, that would appear in the US on an invented Capitol album, but would still appear on the UK album they were recording it for.

How was Capitol able to put I Saw Her Standing There and Thank You Girl on their albums (as well as having the former as a B-side) while Vee Jay owned the rights to their pre-She Loves You songs.

Because VJ were unable to pay the due royalties and Capitol stuck two fingers up and said, “Sue us!”.
There was a legal battle, which gave VJ the rights until towards the end of 1964, and with Capitol having to pay damages, or something like that.
Meaning Capitol could release The Early Beatles in early 1965, as the rights passed from VJ to Capitol.
There is a thread somewhere about what happened with VJ where I went into what happened.

I was listening to Please Please Me and I noticed some weird, faint, off-beat drumming towards the end. Does anyone know what that’s from?

I can hear something akin to a fader being pulled up with leakage for the last harmonica section. Is is under that section from 1:44 – 1:51? I think it’s the drums leaking in the harmonica “track”

The master recording is a composite of three takes, and the unsynced section near the end is the result of fading up (or splicing?) a bit from a different take to fix an error, I believe.
Joe’s article on the song has more (accurate) details.

Does anyone happen to know what year this picture was taken?
They’re watching Lynyrd Skynyrd at Knebworth Fair (a one day “festival”) in Hertfordshire, England on 21 August 1976. Skynyrd were third on the bill, being followed by 10cc, with The Rolling Stones headlining.
Here’s another shot of Paul and David Gilmour from the day:
And to confirm Paul was sporting his porn ‘tache at the time, Paul playing in Munich just over a month later, 27 September:
Who’s the guy in the background of this GIF? Is it Neil?
I’m thinking on this one but I’m not convinced it’s Neil but it’s possible.
I’ll keep thinking on it.
Here’s an enlarged still if that helps anyone else with suggestions:

Cool, thanks! Love that pic and I rather wondered myself. I’d heard it was Led Zeppelin but knew that was false (now that would be too good to be true, Infinity Wars could never ).

At 2:21 in Old Brown Shoe someone in the background yells “hey” who sounds like Ringo, is it Ringo or am I losing my touch?
On second thought it’s more likely that it’s John… but I’d still like to know for sure…
