I’m curious, did Martin Luther King like The Beatles. It’s pretty clear that The Beatles liked him due to both of them opposing the Vietnam War and The Beatles refusing to play to a segregated audience but I wonder if Martin Luther King was a fan of their music or at the very least liked them as people.

Francie Schwartz was a 23 year old woman who had an affair with Paul McCartney while he was engaged with Jane. Although his relationship with her was short lived she did sing backing vocals on Revolution 1 . Sadly she didn’t like getting her picture taken so we have very few photos of her and most of the ones we do have of her only show her from the side or only show the top half of her face or only show her from behind etc.. Here’s a picture of her.
Her relation started after she went to London to see if one of her movie scripts would get Apple’s attention, she walked in while Paul was talking to some business contracts and love blossomed from there.

@Dark Overlord: Thanks for that. So it wasn’t just an affair for her,she was actually in love with him? I also read that Jane caught them in bed together, but McCartney wasn’t bothered, and carried on making love to her. If true, that seems a little cold

Who were the suggestions for the Sgt. Pepper album cover that were rejected? I read that John wanted Hitler and Jesus Christ included, but the record label rejected that,as they deemed it (understandably) too controversial.
Also, does anyone have any theories as to why Paul stands with his back to the camera? Ive heard that it was because his ‘replacement’ had scars from plastic surgery on his face (so it would have been obvious if he was facing the camera that it was another guy), and also that it was actually Neil Aspinall standing in for Paul on the day of shooting the pics for the album…..

This is another question whose answer is easily found in @Joe’s article on the album.
He quotes Paul recalling for the Anthology project:
The photographer Robert Freeman had taken some pictures round at John’s house in Weybridge.
So, the cover shot was taken in the grounds of Kenwood.
Not that I mind answering questions about The Beatles, but may I suggest you’d get an answer quicker to some of your questions by looking at Joe’s article on the subject on the main site.
The main site contains a wealth of Beatley knowledge, and I cannot recommend exploring it’s articles highly enough. Joe’s got quite good Beatles knowledge.

Did any of the Beatles own a swimming pool?

It’s safe to assume that they all did/do. I know for sure there’s pictures of them all swimming and considering The Beatles were so rich and famous that you could fill a museum with all of the expensive things they owned why wouldn’t they each have their own in ground swimming pool.

They were swimming in other people’s pools in most of those picture…I think.
Paul once joked that when they wrote a song they were writing a swimming pool (ie making enough money from the song to purchase a swimming pool).
Lennon’s Kenwood swimming pool http://kenwoodlennon.blogspot……-1967.html
The Dakota doesn’t have a pool.
Picture of George where he eventually built a swimming pool at Kinfauns http://kenwoodlennon.blogspot……-pool.html
Ringo had an indoor one in Surry http://variety.com/2014/dirt/r…..201362069/ Wow, what a house!
7 Cavendish doesn’t have pool. Paul does have one at his Beverly Hills home.
Now, isn’t that better than a bit of speculation. It wasn’t hard to find info with some quick Google searches.

I have a question about the.Their Satanic Majesties Request album. I have read that all four Beatles are hidden in the album cover. I found John and George. But I just can’t find Paul and Ringo. Where are they? Or do they only appear on the original 3D cover when the picture changed? I don’t have that.

Thanks Ron. I guess I can blame it on my 1980s reissue. I now see that the sides of the cover photo are cut off compared to photo you showed thus depriving me of Paul and Ringo. In fact the whole thing is cropped. I only get part of the red Saturn and who knows what on the bottom.
I want a refund!
