The Hole Got Fixed, I know you have a guitar at home, so I recommend bringing it to school and playing the guitar parts yourself, similar to how George Martin played on several Beatles recordings and if your school has a piano or keyboard instrument and ask if you can use that in the concert. Also, with the instruments you mentioned, the second half of Strawberry Fields Forever would be fairly easy as long as you have the bassist play the cello part.

@Martha, I think you’ve definitely given me some ideas there. Got To Get You Into My Life is a good idea to mix in some slightly less known songs. Thanks for such a detailed list, too!
@Pablo Ramon All My Loving is a good idea! I’ll see if I can weave that in.
@Dark Overlord we do have a piano at school, so I could ask if we could use it and if we have a pianist amongst the band. My guitar playing skills really aren’t up to the senior band level and besides, I’m the only French horn.
Thanks all for the suggestions!

Forget about the French horn, it’s not like you’re including Sgt. Pepper or For No One where they actually used one, just play the guitar and remember that you don’t need to be good at guitar to play The Beatles, if you listen to George Harrison ‘s solo you will notice that although they’re well done, they’re very easy to play and if you insist on playing the French horn, why not asking one of your friends to play guitar, I don’t think they would mind especially considering all the stuff they let you do in the first place.

My music teacher approached me and asked me to do an arrangement of some Beatles songs for a medley for our senior band as a major assessment task!It should be maybe 4-6 songs, and I’ve decided to start it with A Hard Day’s Night , but which other songs should I do? I don’t mind doing something slightly less known, but it has to be at least semi-known, and a song I like.
I’ve finished it, about a month later!
It goes for 4 and a half minutes, and is a medley of A Hard Day’s Night , Got To Get You Into My Life , In My Life , Help ! and Twist And Shout .
I feel fine happy now!

I hate to complain about something you wrote, but where are the later songs, everybody knows that The Beatles weren’t that good at first and gradually got better, so I think that although you finished this, it needs a later song, Hey Jude and or Come Together would come in handy. Also, do you mind mentioning the instrumentation because I would like to see it.

I would like to know who your “everybody” is, @Dark Overlord? Because , to paraphrase Al Capp, “You don’t speak for me… whoever your ‘everybody’ is, I’m not one of them!”
This is why you annoy me at times, you state your opinions as accepted facts and think we’ll all go along with it.
I love the early Beatles. I think they were the best band on the planet at the time. I don’t think that changed. I don’t think The Beatles of 1969 are a better band than those of 1963, but just a band reflecting the musical changes they had led.
I certainly don’t think many here would say that “The Beatles weren’t that good at first,” and I’d rather you owned your own opinions rather than try and convince that others accept your statement as truth.
Speak for yourself, don’t keep trying to present your own opinion as the consensus.

Yeah, I realised that the latest song I have is Got To Get You Into My Life … Whoops! I really should have done something from their later years. Point taken.

Wow, that’s great to hear! Will you be recording the band when they play it?
I also like the pieces you chose – especially Got To Get You Into My Life I wonder where you got this amazing idea from…

If you record it and are allowed to make it public, will you post a link then? It would be very exciting to hear the result!

Did I say everybody, I meant most people. For me, I think The Beatles got better throughout their career with every album being better than the last until they released their best album The Beatles. I’m not saying that I don’t like songs like Please Please Me and She Loves You , but when compared to such classics as Nowhere Man , Eleanor Rigby , Strawberry Fields Forever , A Day In The Life , I Am The Walrus , Happiness Is A Warm Gun , Revolution , Come Together , Let It Be , and Hey Jude , among several others, it’s like comparing The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn to The Dark Side Of The Moon or like comparing The Miracle to A Night At The Opera, although A is good, B makes A look like dogreel. This is all my personal opinion though, if you think that I Want To Hold Your Hand is better than Hey Jude or that The Gnome is better than Money or that I Want It All is better than Bohemian Rhapsody, that’s fine with me.
