I would consider Billy less than an equal member during his months with them in 1969, but far more than a session musician.
You end up in a similar situation when considered the roles of the various Plastic Ono Band and Wings members over the years.
I suppose a session musician is generally someone brought in to fulfil a specific brief that no member of the band is able to, their only creative input being how they performed the part/script offered them.
I would probably consider Billy as a companion musician for a while, someone brought in without a script to follow and with an open invitation to contribute creatively to how the songs took shape as they worked on them.
His creative contributions to much of Let It Be and Abbey Road raised their own efforts.

You missed Her Majesty and Maxwell’s Silver Hammer .
I agree with Starr Shine? as there were 4 members of the group, and if they weren’t all present, that means that the group wasn’t present. Would you call John, Ringo and Paul the Beatles, for example? No – George isn’t on the list. And in my mind, that directly translates to recordings as well.

I missed them for a reason. For Her Majesty , the first note, which is the last note of Mean Mr. Mustard, contains 2 electric guitars (John’s Casino and George’s Tele), bass guitar (Paul’s Jazz Bass), drums (Ringo), electric piano (Paul’s Fender Rhodes), and tambourine (Ringo), along with Paul’s D-28 acoustic from Her Majety. As for Maxwell’s Silver Hammer , John’s playing acoustic guitar during the 2nd and 3rd choruses.

There is a story that Kate Robbins – British comedienne, actress, singer, and Paul’s cousin (it was the Robbins’ family pub on the Isle of Wight where the Nurk Twins would perform) – tells of the family’s reaction when stories of Paul’s drug use started making the headlines around 1967.
A family deputation was sent down from Liverpool to London to find out what was going on with him, Auntie Gin being the most well-known of the family members involved. They spent a couple of days with Paul.
Getting back to Liverpool, they were quizzed by other family members about what was going on with Paul, whether he’d got weird, and what was all this talk of drugs…
The story is that Auntie Gin pulled out a big joint, sparked it up, took a long drag, and then started handing it around, telling everybody drugs were nothing to be really worried about… and that Paul was still Paul…
How true the story is, who knows…

There’s also the bit that I’ve Just Seen A Face , a disguised drug song, is said to have been known as Auntie Gin’s Theme for a bit while it was being written, @Ahhh Girl…

Well what about the songs from before Ringo? They were already The Beatles for some time before Richy joined them.

Thanks for giving me my next miscellaneous question about The Beatles Ron, why do multiple sources claim that George is on Little Child when he clearly isn’t. If you listen to the song, here’s what I hear and what I think’s going on in the final mix. John’s singing and playing a harmonica, which is clearly an overdub, Paul’s singing, playing his Hofner bass, and playing a piano overdub, while Ringo is just drumming. It is possible that John used his Rick to play rhythm guitar, possibly to help play the piano part later, and during the first “baby take a chance with me”, you can hear what could possibly be a compressed Rick slip through, although if this is true, that means the Rick is very low in the mix, even more than the bass. It’s safe to assume George was taking a break at the time and was not present while this song was being recorded.
Maybe you should try posting more.

However, it should be noted that Paul has played the Cavern Club as a solo artist many, many years later.
