Hi, this is a question I was hoping someone would be able to help me with. I recently watched the TV film In His Life: The John Lennon Story made in 2000 and there’s a scene in it which I think is post Quarry Men, pre Stu Sutcliffe in the band and the band just consists of Paul on drums and George and Lennon on guitars. Did this set up actually happen and if so how long did it go on for ?

Paul did drum sometimes in the early days since Paul, George and John went threw alot of drummers but I am not sure how much it happened since Paul preferred to play the guitar

I’ve read that Paul would climb behind the drums occasionally when they were between drummer and have a bash around, more often at the Cavern. Can’t remember where tho. Those who’ve read All Those Years (it’s on my to read list ok!) will be able to say for definite.
