Awwwwww thanks @Martha, that’s so sweet of you to say! When I showed it to the kidsister she said, ‘Argh, he’s so creepy’ (it was first thing in the morning, but c’mon!) and when Silly Dad saw it, he thought it was David Bowie. (To his credit, he said he thought it was George at first but then the short hair threw him off, but still.) Still, I thought it was a pretty fine achievement.
Pages, really? My ego wouldn’t mind

Happy (northern hemisphere) Winter Solstice day or something, I dunno. Anyway, have this.
I’ll do a proper recording of it… one day.

That was wonderful, it definitely captured the song very well. As always, a very fine performance! When you re-record it, will you record any other parts as well?

Absolutely! Definitely some more vocals, and maybe I’ll enlist a ‘Bibler to do the organ parts.

Yay, you have recorded a cover of Long, Long, Long ! ( I have hoped you would do that one day as it perfectly suits your voice and it’s still my favourite Beatles song.)
It sounds just as great as I imagined it to sound, especially all the changes between calm and outbursting passion, they are just spot on, both in guitar and vocals! Thank you for sharing this beautiful cover!
By the way, at the very beginning, (‘It’s been a’) your voice sounds exactly like Yoko, in my opinion.

BeatlebugNot once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Hauntingly beautiful @Beatlebug . I never thought of it before but the Winter Solstice is as well. I think there’s enough of your music to put together a Silly Girl’s Greatest Hits CD I’ll get to working on the cover! Speaking of which, I thought of you and Silly Dad last Sunday when I went to the Windham Hill Winter Solstice concert with Will Ackerman. The Bricklayer’s Beautiful Daughter was a highlight

@sigh butterfly I’m glad you found it! That’s precisely how I’ve always described the song.
That sounds very cool, Windham Hill’s A Winter’s Solstice record is one of my absolute favourite holiday albums; I have it on vinyl as well as more modern formats.
I would like to do my own album cover but that’d be presumptuous
Anyway, my parents got me a recording thingy for Crimble, so I’ll probably be playing with that and posting new and improved amazingness in the near future.

By popular vote, Pic #1 is the winner! I shall hopefully begin drawing it soon; in the meantime, here is a slightly crap demo of Olivia’s favourite Harrisong:
Enjoy!

Unsurprisingly great @Beatlebug Your song selection is out of sight! It made ne go put on George’s own demo of it. I never felt I understood the song until I heard George perform it alone, and you brought me back to that. Beautiful!

Thanks, everyone!
@sir walter raleigh I just play what I like, so I’m glad you like it too I have to admit I’m rather fond of the stately (mildly bombastic) introspection of the ATMP version — it gives it a sound like it’s emanating out of the very air and grass of a big open field — but the demo is also good. One day I’d like to do a better recording of it, with production somewhere between the two extremes.
And NOW…
Drawnage!
I’m quite pleased with this one — I didn’t even have to fight with it! I must be Getting Better all the time
