Wow, when I started listening to that, I thought for a few seconds that you’d posted the isolated guitar solo from the actual song!
If you do become an artist, you know you’ve already got a fan base!

^ Thanks! I thought I nailed the tone pretty well — I kept it simple and just cranked up the gain and volume to get distortion, like they would have done, and put the treble at 10.
I realise that, and it makes me Glad All Over .
Too bad y’all are too far-flung to all come to one concert, because with only one or two Biblers in each country, I don’t think I’ll be filling any stadiums any time soon…

You don’t have to start right off with playing in arenas, how about following the Beatles’ footsteps and filling the Indra first? (No, I have not suggested that because the Indra is in Hamburg which means I could listen to you playing every evening () … That was definitively not the reason… )
And I find your recording, and the dedication really, really beautiful (the little ping at the end was so cool, it was spot on)! I truly hope Dark Overlord will listen to it one day.

Awww thanks, I wasn’t quite satisfied with the end harmonic — it was vastly easier to get it right on the first try if I had the gain at 10, but that made it a little too distorted, so I turned the gain down to 8.5 or so to get the tone right but then I kept missing the harmonic. And that’s the only reason I had to do like ten takes — it’s otherwise a very simple solo so it probably would’ve only taken a couple takes.

It’s Johnny’s Birthday drawing:
and a song to go with it (not necessarily matching it, era-wise, but I don’t care)

@Beatlebug, I also enjoyed Blackbird and Mother Nature’s Son . They made me want to pull out my Beatles albums.
Keep playing and singing.

How wonderful, that just made Johnny’s birthday twice as great! I love the way you drew his nose, that’s spot on! And the cover is great as well, Watching The Wheels gets a completely new atmosphere with guitar and voice only, it sounds more gently and dreamy that way, that’s pretty cool!

Thanks, everyone!
@Martha if you’ve never heard it, this is the version I based mine off of: I don’t really like the Double Fantasy version that much.

Thank you for the information about the version! I just remembered I’ve already heard an acoustic version once on John’s home demos, which makes my above remark a bit redundant but in the end, I stick to it because I still think your interpretation sounds dreamier.

I’ve already posted a demo-thing of it (somewhere in Your Beatles covers) but if you mean a proper one, with multitracks, well, we’ll see. I have a fairly long to-do list.

So I did this thing where I put my songs on shuffle and drew a sketch for each song, during the duration of the song only (so they’re pretty quick scribbly jobs). I decided to make it Beatles-themed because 1) I was in a Beatley mood and 2) I hadn’t drawn much of them in a while, not to mention 3) I figured I’d be likely to get more Beatles than anything else, considering 209 of the 425 songs on that playlist were Beatles songs, and that’s not including solo George!

What a bittersweet and truly beautiful picture!
I deeply admire you for drawing the expression on George’s face from your memory as it’s close to magic. He looks peaceful and enlightened, free from every pain and sorrow and the amused almost cheeky I-know-something-you-don’t-know half-smile is so, so George! Okay, I’ll better stop now since I love the picture so much that I could fill pages with reasons why I love it so much and that would be annoying.
