Listening to the other tracklist today made me think it’s about time I did another competition…
I have made a new mockup album which would have been released sometime in the long break between the UK releases of Rubber Soul and Revolver . It’s almost similar to the Collection Of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies!) compilation from Christmas 1966, minus several album tracks, and plus some other singles and Anthology stuff.
The album is entitled Abracadabra (one of the original Revolver titles, except in this universe, it actually ended up becoming a Beatles album title) and here is the cover:
And the (incomplete) back cover
And the tracks in no chronological order –
The prize yet again will be a drawing of the winner’s avatar (if WSC wins again, I will give him something different). Deadline will be in 10 days (03.04)
Best of luck!

Here is my entry:
Side A:
Paperback Writer – Great powerful song to start the album
Long Tall Sally
I’m Down
Bad Boy
I Call Your Name
Side B:
Leave My Kitten Alone
Matchbox
Yes It Is
How Do You Do It
Rain – Great powerful song to end the album
I love this sort of stuff. Seeing how different people create different orders for different reasons fascinate me.

This idea is awesome! I had a lot of fun changing the order of the songs until I thought it fit and I have discovered two really cool new ones with Leave My Kitten Alone and How Do You Do It ? Also kudos on your arts (and farts) @SgtPeppersBulldog
So, here comes the sun my list:
Side A: Long Tall Sally (Is there a better beginning than Paul screaming ‘I’m going to tell…’ before the distinct piano starts to play and the song takes off? So powerful and driving )
I Call Your Name (After this furious start a more laid back song fits in very well, however, the groove is still maintained)
How Do You Do It ? (Two good rock’n’roll songs that just make you smile)
Paperback Writer (After a few rock’n’roll numbers this marvellous psychedelic song is a good contrast and has a great fade-out to end the first side)
Side B:
Leave My Kitten Alone (These funny guitar chords at the beginning are such a big surprise everytime I hear them and isn’t a little surprise at the beginning of Side B of an album called Abracadabra quite fitting?)
Bad Boy (Side B needs a good rock’n’roll song too, of course)
Yes It Is (Finally, a slower song to build a contrast to the wild and loud preceding song and at the same time to cool down before the grand finale)
I’m Down (the number starts rocking but still with a lot of breaks but then after that crazy piano solo begins the great run-up to the last song with Paul going wild. Then there is a fade out a little pause at the end of the song to create tension and then finally:…
Rain ! ( just one word: awesome)

SgtPeppersBulldog, BeatlebugNot once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T.
