Okay, the SPAM became too much… Time to start a separate topic. Please offer your comments, it means a lot to me.
I drew this today. It was going to be part 1 of 4. I did the 4 Seasons thing, but I wanted to do a nicer, more detailed version. Paul is Spring, so I drew him first. I had no idea it would turn out like this! I was going to add a nice aquarel background in greens, possibly with some blossom petals. But now, I’m not so sure. I’m scared the picture might get ruined.
Please advise…

Scan yes, print no. I’m out of ink…haha! Could make a few photocopies, I suppose. But I wouldn’t be able to really try the aquarel thing, as the paper wouldn’t be able to handle the water. Still, using pencils should give me an idea. Great suggestion, thanks.
Thanks for the compliment. I intended for the shading to be lighter, but I kind of like the effect. I hope the other three will turn out this well too. My best drawing so far… by a league!

AWESOMENESS!! I have a fellow scribbler– I’m so happy
I love this latest one! I think it looks good the way it is, but I’d also be interested in seeing it with a coloured background. If there is any way you could copy it and try out the background…
Are you going to x-post all your other artworks as well?

Might… but it’s rubbish compared to this! I should’ve tried this style before. It’s fun to do, and it worked out quite well.
Oh, and thank you! If George turns out this well, I’ll dedicate the drawing to you

Work in progress. Still a few hours’ work to do, but our beloved Ritchie is starting to look recognisable. I wish the Teddy Boy Ringo photos were better quality, though! It’s very difficult to get a good idea of the lines and shadows in his face… Sneak peek of one small portion of the drawing:
Update: Had to start over Made a mistake too big to fix, and I don’t want to settle for a portrait that doesn’t really look like Ringo. So, back to square one and hoping to get it right this time.

I’m afraid V2.0 isn’t as nice as the original one was (before I mucked it up). But, I’ve decided to not egg the pudding any more, because it can only get worse. I’ll have to make another drawing of Ringo some day, using a better quality example image. Anyway, here we go…
If you noticed a few strange spots; it would seem I accidentally left some pencil shavings on the paper before using the fixing medium (a.k.a. hair spray)….

Nice work – that has always been one of my favorite pics of our Richy.
It’s good that you used hairspray – his coif would have been held up by Vaseline and it would have been a far messier fixing media.

LOL, thanks! It is quite a miracle how they kept those huge pompadours in place, isn’t it? Going by the pictures, George’s was even higher. Anyway, I do love the photo, but I did improvise a bit. I can’t see whether or not he’s wearing a jacket over that black shirt. So I just gave him one anyway…haha!
I did notice one or two small details I can fix, such as the shading of the tie. I seem to have completely forgotten to do that. That’s what you get from being hunched over a piece of paper for hours on end…
I’ve found some really nice pictures of Ringo, so I’m definitely going to be drawing him more.

I’m pretty sure he said f*****g turban….LOL Paul should talk Scouse more often, I love it when he does that.
But anyway, now we know why George called his mop top Arthur. Very funny!

Wow, @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<! I’m away for several* hours and look what magically appears… A real Ritchie! In the flesh! Joking aside, t’is very fab– or should I say pre-fab? And I appreciate that it wasn’t magic– it was hours of bending over a paper.
Can’t wait to see George and John! I’m honoured by your dedicating it to me It doesn’t have to turn out great, just dedicate it to me anyway. Even the great Klaus Voormann of Revolver fame said George is hard to draw.

I’ve started drawing George, @Beatlebug. You’re right; it is difficult to draw him. His expression is so specific, getting it wrong means it won’t look like Joj. Shelved the four seasons thing for now, and decided to do full-page portraits instead, to allow for more details. That means I’ll be re-doing Ringo and Paul as well, but I figured I might as well start with George and John since I hadn’t drawn those yet. I think you’ll like how this one is turning out. I’m quite chuffed with it so far. I still have some layering and shading left to do, but it should be finished today.

Have truer words ever been spoken? Thank you, by the way, for finding the perfect word to describe that indescribable Georgeness.
Only a small part of the reason why I endlessly delight in drawing George. I’ve found he gets easier with practise.

Oh, I’m sure I’ll be getting enough practice! This one is nearing completion, but the last part is always the hardest: getting the shadows just right without mucking everything up! It’s smudging like crazy, so I keep having to erase stains, but I’m getting there, slowly. Things like drawing the sideboards, eyebrows and eyelashes one tiny hair at a time is taking a lot of time (half of which is spent sharpening and re-sharpening the pencil), and it’s a strain on the eyes, but it’s worth it. Looks so much better this way. Not a lot of daylight left, though. Might have to finish tomorrow.

Just…wow.
What he said!
My god, he’s beautiful…
(I’m complimenting him, but you may also take it as a compliment to your drawing skills… and I do mean skills.)
