Listen to this:
In other (sort of) Beatles news, more than 10,000 fans have signed a petition to get a street in Liverpool named after jilted “fifth Beatle” Pete Best. Best’s half-brother Roag Best says, “he did over 1,000 shows with them, which means he did more with them than Ringo Starr did in six years. In Hamburg, especially, they were doing eight or nine-hour sessions, so apart from playing more shows, he outstripped Ringo in hours played, as well.”
Just read This. This is idiotic

**Trying not to make too many jokes about dead-end streets**
Now THAT'S funny.
Personally I see nothing wrong with “Pete Street” or “Best Way”. Whatever butters the biscuit, I always say.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Nah, I'm not worried about Joe. I feel a little sorry for Pete Best, actually. Not good to make fun of easy targets.

Eh, as long as the other ten higher-ranked Beatles (and honourary Beatles) already have Liverpool streets named after them (Lennon Lane, Paul Place, Ringo Road, Harrison Highway, Evans Avenue, Brian Boulevard, Sutcliffe Street, etc), I see no harm in Pete having one of his own too.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

I'm not against it (it's their street to name), but it seems sad to me. He played 1,000+ shows with them, but Ringo made the difference.
Well put. One does start to feel bad for the guy, his whole life revolves around accomplishments other people made.
When are you free to take some tea with me?

Yeah, the Beatles were four chaps with an unrepeatable chemistry. If Best was the drummer, maybe they would split just after Brian's death or before. Ringo was the oil in the machine, he could chill the discussions just being him; Best could be another focus of conflict if he would be in the band.
In addition, John, Paul and George needed, as they said “the best drummer in Liverpool”, and that was Ringo, they did the best choice, not for Best's (lack of) ability, but for Ringo's personality and technique.
Ringo's drumming is so unique, that is a inseparable part of Beatles' sound.
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

I would have sympathised, only if they didn't drag Ringo into it and draw a comparison between the two to justify the request..
Besides, could Pete Best ever come up with things like: “Tomorrow Never Knows ” or “A Hard Day's Night”?
Answer: No.
Bottom line: He doesn't deserve a street named after him
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on!
