I was trolling around online when I found this Yahoo question about Paul I will quote here
Was Paul McCartney androgynous?
As in looks, when he was younger.

I don’t think so, some might call him a “pretty boy,” but I don’t think he had womanly features.

His look in ’67/’68 might have bordered on that, but I would say no. Some fanfic writers have described him as feline, which I quite like.

Androgynous? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He may be a little “cute looking”, as they say, but he’s definitely not androgynous. He got more manly as the years went by. “We hated that mop top look. We’re not boys. We’re men!”
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

i have a book with all the letters john lennon wrote in his life (and which could be found, naturally). and there is one he wrote for some music magazine that says: “(…) PS what was libel about saying paul was camp?” – the original letter, where he says paul was camp, is lost, unfortunately.
it was written in 1971, when paul and john weren’t the best of friends, though…

I think “camp” refers to Paul’s “granny” music style, not to any putative androgyny.
As I’ve said before on some other thread long ago, to me Paul combines a kind of cute pretty boy look with a masculine manliness — a paradoxical feat that is virtually unique among any celebrities I can think of whether in the music world or in movies or in the entertainment world in general. Most good looking male celebrities are either one or the other — not both.

What do you mean “granny music crap?” I think John was wrong on that one too. I like that music. I mean, “Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs. What’s wrong with that?”

Some people get tired of silly love songs very quickly. Thats really the one thing that I don’t like about paul musically. I can’t take much of the A Taste Of Honey , And I Love Her , Like Dreamers Do genre.

There is a thread on Paul’s granny music if anyone wants to read it and/or continue the discussion.

Yeah, I remember that “granny music” thread. Personally, I like Paul’s granny music (and it’s not a science — some people dispute that some songs really are granny).
To me, the gold standard of Paul’s granny music was “When I’m Sixty-Four “.

Hard to say. I suppose the stuff with more rock/rockabilly tendencies. Like Beatles For Sale . I love later stuff too though. Really the “granny music” is the only Beatles genre I don’t like.

I guess you could call Maxwell’s Silver Hammer granny music if grannies listen to songs about serial killers.
…sorry I wasn’t on topic there.

He gets much more masculine as years go by. Besides he probably got more girls in 6 minutes than I will in my lifetime!
Yep. And as Mr. Kite said, that’s why I win!

@Mr. Kite totally called it! That’s why Paul has been the one who looks the most like he used to!

Anyway, I do not think at all that Paul was androgynous. He might have kind of had long eye lashes, but isn’t that adorable?
Edit: Oh, and his eyebrows might have been a bit on the girly side, but apart from that, I can’t think of anything that would have made him look a bit girly.
Guy actually have longer eyelashes naturally. It’s a fact look it up!
And I guess I just speak words of wisdom.
Let it be!
