I don't like Ozzy Osbourne but I kind of like this for a number of reasons:
1. the video is quite well made – NYC, Strawberry Fields, walking across ped crossing à la Abbey Road is a nice touch
2. brings out a good JL song which many may not have heard
3. remembering JL without being too…obvious
4. Much better than the umpteenth dreadful cover version of Imagine .
4. all in favour of Amnesty International.
I really think I would've liked it even if I'd just heard it on the radio.
(Much better than the umpteenth cover version of Imagine . aaarrgghhh)

I'm not sure how I feel about this vid.
On one hand, I dig Ozzy (first concert me & the missus went to as a couple) and I love the song.
On the other hand, it's just so un-Ozzy. If I had never heard the song before this version, I probably wouldn't give it a second listen and would be wondering “what the Hell was he thinking?”.
That would have been a shame because it really is a lovely song.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I know Ozzy did “In My Life ” relatively recently, too. Never heard it but it wasn’t too well-received, I think. Anyway, I have no real interest in the man’s post-Randy Rhoads recording career. (But I know he was always a huge Lennon/Beatles fan, so that's cool.)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Really??? I’m interested by your reaction according to Ozzy’s previous career….
You mean as a member of Black Sabbath and having a fairly successful solo career in the hard rock and heavy metal world? I quite like him ans his music. I'm not saying his voice is the best in the world or that everything he does is sane (I mean like really, biting bat heads and snorting ants. These do not make you sane or appear normal), but I enjoy some of his music. More Sabbath than solo. And I've always admired his fanboy for the Beatles/John. I find him gear and other hyperboles.
Well we all shine on like the moon, the stars, and the sun.

Yes it's kind of tucked away towards the end of Imagine which I've always thought was a shame, deserves more recognition and shoul've been on the 'Definitive' collection.

Ozzy annoys me. He has such an arrogance around him. Although he should sing Helter Skelter .
