When the book was written by the Best brothers about the Casbah Coffee Club they went and interviewed a Mr X at a recording studio. Pete didn't go but Rory did. Mr X was very helpful and chatted away and the whole thing was captured on video.
A little later the Best brothers made a DVD about the Casbah and naturally wanted to include this footage on said DVD, only Mr X point blank refused to let them use it.
A while later the Beatles Story in Liverpool agreed to recognise that the Casbah WAS the original birthplace of the Beatles and therefore set up an exhibition there with selected memorabilia. Once again Mr X was approached and asked if they could use the footage. His answer was simple and to the point: YES they could use it at the Beatles Story but on no condition was it ever to be used whereby a Mr Pete Best would financially gain from it!
I wonder why he is still so bitter?

Offline No, I paid to see Sir Paul McCartney in concert. No 'Mister' or 'X' in that name. I don't know how you would confuse the two. 
There might be legal reasons that aren't clear to us from Mr. X's side, but it isn't exactly friendly on his part.

That's very peculiar. Did they include a transcript of the interview in the book (which, presumably, Pete would have profited from)?

No, BUT he did write the Foreward which I found strange……….Rory said all of this as we were leaving so it wasn't until afterwards that I really digested it!
