Hello all, must apologise for the long absence, haven’t had much time recently to browse the forum. Anyway, my grandmother gave me this t shirt, although she can’t for the life of her remember how or why she got which is unfortunate because it would help the identification. Anyway, I wanted to ask you all if it is a genuine road crew t shirt because I don’t really have much knowledge on that subject. I’ve took some pictures of it (the blur on the second one is just from the camera.)

Don’t take me for 100% correct first of all:
I don’t believe they would go to such an effort (and expense) of getting t-shirts printed up not only with the ‘Road Crew’ mark on it but also a colour logo. They only did one concert at the Hollywood Bowl in ’64 and there would of been no point giving out t-shirts to the large amount of people that helped with the show. A t-shirt just with ‘The Beatles Road Crew 1964’ would seem more plausible but I’d say this mostly likely was made for promotion during the release of the live album in 1977.
Anyway it’s still a cool t-shirt, I’d say it could fetch some money if you ever were to sell it just not as much if it was an actual roadies shirt

I would agree with AppleScruffJunior. I don’t remember concert T shirts in the 60s.

I found a link that has it listed as a 1977 promotional shirt, as AppleScruffJunior said.

Still cool, though, and likely a pretty rare find.

Thanks for that, it’s still a pretty neat item.

Though correct that it’s a 1977 promotional tee-shirt, I’m not sure it is EMI. It is certainly among the 1977 promotional items issued by Capitol in 1977. If you look here and go to 1977 you’ll find it among the many items issued by Capitol to promote the Hollywood Bowl album. I suppose where you are would make one or the other more or less likely!
