I am a huge fan of both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Two great bands and a great rivalry. But great mutual admiration, too. This is a direct quote from Keith, from 1995 interview published in Uncut magazine:
“Yeah, John was a good friend of mine, I miss him. He and I used to play a lot together, backstage, everywhere. Johnny was a great supporter, he was not a mean man, he had a large heart if he saw something he liked. Yeah, hats off to Johnny…miss him, sadly. I was just down the road when he got blown away, man. Y'know, I was like running up the road with my shooter going, 'I'll get the f****r'.”
I'm not a violent person but I don't think I'd have stopped Keith if he'd have “gotten” MDC.
Next up: Keith's encounters with Paul, whom he writes about and is pictured with in Keith's mighty fine new autobiography.
