Considering there are going to be a lot of 50th events over the next few decades thought a thread would be good to contain them all together – if at all possible, may a bit difficult in 7 years time for the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road .
Anyroad.
50 years ago today (8th March) The Beatles (with Pete Best not Ringo) appeared for the first time on BBC Radio, the programme being Teenager’s Turn – Here We Go (it was recorded on the 7th March).
They sang Dream Baby (Paul on lead vocals and the only known Beatles recording of this number), Memphis, Tennessee & Please Mister Postman (both with John on lead vocals).
All those years ago.
Joe’s entry for this event is here.
