I would have them play the rooftop concert 45 years later than they did, and have them play it on my rooftop.
No I am kidding. I wish John had been a better father to Julian, but that is obvious. Although I do pity John due to his hardships and weight on his shoulders, but that is no excuse to abandon a child.

He clearly wasn’t ready for a child and Julian was most likely an accident and on top of that, The Beatles were gaining popularity and were recording and or touring almost non stop, so it’s hard to blame him.

I would have made them do one more psychedelic album sometime in 1968.(And if I could, maybe make Paul keep his beard. Apologies for going on about it, but it’s too epic!)
They were going to, but George Martin decided it needed to have a B-side consisting of a 41 piece orchestra and only 1 song with any Beatle on it (George played sitar on Sea Of Holes ) which delayed the release until January 1969. Yellow Submarine would’ve worked better as a 5 track EP with Only A Northern Song , All Together Now , Hey Bulldog , It’s All Too Much , and All You Need Is Love , released in July 1968 to coincide with the movie.

I’d replace Can’t Buy Me Love and Should Have Known Better with Day Tripper , We Can Work It Out , and The Inner Light on the Hey Jude album. Then I’d give Hey Jude the MMT treatment in 1976.

John’s lack of interest in the band from 66 on
John had a fair share of interest in the band until about 1969, here’s a list with the first number meaning how many songs John was present on, the second one being how many John played guitar on, and the third one being how many songs John sang lead vocals on, and the final one being the total number of songs on the album:
Revolver (12/6/5/14)
Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band (12/7/5/13)
Magical Mystery Tour (11/4/5/11)
Yellow Submarine (4/2/1/4)
The Beatles (21/15/12/30)
Abbey Road (14/12/8/17)
Let It Be (10/8/5/12)
As you can see, John was interested with the band, although quite a bit of his contributions were minor, such as just tambourine or backing vocals, but still, he did quite a bit even after 1966.

John himself said he thought about leaving the group after they quit touring, now that sounds like kinda lack of interest to me. He didn’t care too much about both the Sgt. Pepper and Magical mistery tour when Paul clearly took over and that seems like lack of interest to me. From 68 on his main interest turned into Yoko so again kinda lack of interest in the Beatles… he wasn’t as involved as he used to be as in Please, please me, A Hard Day’s Night or Help !

That Brian Epstein hadn’t died, and therefore Allen Klein didn’t get involved. They might have split anyway, but it would probably have been handled a lot more delicately.
