He seems to be milking the whole Beatles thing. Look at some of his CD releases: “Best of the Beatles”, “The Beatle That Time Forgot” (we haven't forgotten, so please stop reminding us) “Once a Beatle, Always a Beatle”, “The Pete Best Combo – Beyond the Beatles”.
And then you have his site, which has the heading “Pete Best, Beatles. The Beatles Pete Best” and the tagline “The man who put the Beat in Beatles”.
He sells a DVD on there called “Pete Best of The Beatles”. In the description, it says “The anthology was the B-Z of Beatles history. For a small price you can have the A.”
I think he tries to make out that his role in The Beatles's history was more important than it really was, cos I guess that's all he has. I feel slightly bad for him, cos the way they kicked him out was pretty harsh.
I mean, he wasn't a bad drummer, but Ringo is better.

You know, Ringo was revolutionary in drumming in his own way. He never really repeated the same drumming beat for the same song. Other drummers look back on his work and will look at his styles. The Beatles were not the Beatles without Ringo.
*9* John agrees!

You have a point Paulrus.
Ok here comes one of my rants. It’s not pointed to anybody, I’m just ranting.
I don’t mind Pete Best trying to get his right place in the Beatles history. We can’t erase that. Were John Paul and George pricks when they fired him? The hell yeah. But again, as George said, history has proved that they were right.
What It really pisses me off is why some people are willing to say Ringo was the lesser Beatle and he could have been replaced by Best? I’m not sure about Best’s drumming (I have heard some of his songs with the Beatles and they sound okey to me) but for Christ’s sake, if there’s something that makes the Beatles songs strong is Ringo!!! He always plays well!!
I dunno if it’s an actual quote but John said that when he plays he doesn’t need to see where he’s walking, because Ringo has the lead, or something like if he loses his way, he just needs to turn to Ringo and tada, he’s back in track.
Yes, Paul and John were geniuses, yes George grew up as a writer to be at the side of Lennon/McCartney, but the fact that Ringo didn’t write, it doesn’t mean he was not a genius. In my opinion, and I’m sorry for saying this, but if we go to musician and instrument wise skills or whatever you call it, Ringo was at their level if better. Period.
How did I come to this conclusion? With this. Just listen to this. It’s not Ringo, but this guy does a good job. We’re talking about 1966. 45 freaking years ago.

Show me a song from that year or earlier with drumming like this, and then I can tell you that yeah, Ringo was replaceable. Again, Ringo was not a lesser Beatle. He was, sorry, he is a Beatle.
End of my rant. Sorry. I had to take it out of my chest. Phew I feel better

I agree with Mith on the level that Ringo was very important to the Beatles. Obviously Pete Best deserves a place in history, but why milk it so much? Though Ringo might have had less of an education, and his voice wasn't all that great…but he was a brilliant drummer. Very revolutionary in his own way. That's why he can't play Beatles Rockband (along with Paul lol), because he can't rock out.

This is a Prudence-type rant:
Ringo was a good drummer, no he isnt the Rev, and he was going to be. Ringo was still an awesome drummer.
Pete Best shut shut the f**k up because yeah, you were a Beatle, no you werent forgotten! your constant milking hes made you not able to forget. We're not buying you fricken sob story. You are still successful.
Yes John Paul and George were pretty harsh on you but stop worring about the people in your past. Theres a reason they didnt make it into your future.
Ringo was obviously better than you, and you couldent be a Beatle anyway. You are not sexy enough.
Ok I'm done here

With Pete, he had potential, but it seems like he didn't really try to connect with Paul, John, George, and Stu. In the books I read about the boys, when they talk about Pete it wasn't like 'Oh, Pete sucked, blah blah blah.' it was more like 'He was a good guy but he didn't really try to do anything with us.' I think even if he was a better drummer(as he wasn't the best) he would've been sacked because he just wasn't that close. Ringo, on the otherhand, would hang out with the boys and drum with them, so they obviously prefered him.
Plus, Ringo is so much sexier.
