Hi all, i am not really a big beatles fan but i thought you may have some more of a clue than i do….
Basically my great uncle lenord Chance worked for United artists and used to bring us home goodies from sets of films etc. I was given the mic that Paul Mccartney used for the Live And Let Die theme tune. it is a AKG D20 in the box and i have proof also.
I was just wondering where to begin on my quest for value of it etc and research??? given that these mics are worth £800 ish alone im guessing mine would have a bit more value as i can prove it?
didnt know if any1 would know? or who i could contact that may be interested?
Thanks guys

You might want to go to eBay first and see if you can find anything similar, like another type of microphone used by Paul McCartney . Then, look up some sites that will pay for Paul McCartney or Beatles memorabilia, there are tons of them that want that kind of thing. I assume you want to sell it, right? I would certainly buy it from you

Well, you think the mic is about 800 euros, i did a US conversion and it turns out to about $1,140. If i knew it was that expensive, I wouldn't have offered. Oh well, I'll still help you. I think it depends on what type of proof you have

its £800 uk £'s sorry not euro's, was not asking u directly to buy it just how much u would of paid. help would be amazing. i have a serial number for the mic.
as far as proof goes my only concern is that i only have headed letters etc from the United artists about my uncle working there. i have items from the actual james bond films that were used as props which can obviouly be identified but its a bit harder with the mic. grrrrrr annoying

maybe try to find a picture with Paul holding the mic, if you know the specific show he used it in? I mean, the letters are fine, but you might have a little trouble selling it if you don't have really convincing proof, like something guaranteed from Paul that he used it. But if you can find a picture, you may be able to sell it to a true Paul fan. Sadly, you might not even find someone to sell it to at all, people these days need so much proof. You are probably the only one who would truly recognize it as a Paul McCartney mic if you sold it to someone. I think the price you have now could be raised a little bit if you happen to locate proof

I'm no expert, but no one will spend 800 pounds on a mic that could be a Paul mic. You need more proof.

I know someone who's sourcing items for a big Beatles-related auction in September. If you're genuinely interested in selling it, and think you can provide suitable authentication, I can pass on the Hotmail address you registered here with. Let me know if that's OK.
