I know I’d be interested! I’ve been reading a lot of autobiographies lately, and one by Ringo would be great!

I’d love it. mmm mentioned an interest in Ringo’s post-Beatles story. I too would be interested in that but am more interested in his pre-Beatles story. Lewisohn does an admirable job of it in Tune In, but it leaves me wanting to know more. Reading about all of their childhood experiences fascinates me so because my parents were born in that same time frame (F -1938 and M – 1940). I’ve heard so many stories of what life was like for them growing up here in the US and I like to compare that to what the Fabs went through in the ‘Pool. Like John, my mom was/stilll is smitten with Elvis. My dad rocked to the same music the Beatles did as kids and got me hooked on it. So many similarities, but so many differences as well on both sides of the Atlantic.

I’ll add myself and @Expert Textpert to those who wish for a Ringo bio. We were talking about wanting one when we were at the used book-and-record store the day after the Ringo concert.

I think I have an addiction.  I won’t list everything I’ve bought, but I seriously cannot stop.  Clothing, books, albums, DVD’s, buttons (badges), mugs, figurines…it goes on and on.  Oh look, I have some money.  Let me buy something Beatles related!

I go to the grocery store…Oh look at that neat Beatles thing, I must add it to the cart.

I’m browsing on Amazon…Oh, there goes another 60 dollars!

Can anyone relate to my “problem”?

YES!!!  I started selling off many items, cause I just had too much Beatles stuff lying around, so I started paring down.  So continuing from page 5 of this thread, here is more stuff I have.

I had soooooooo many Beatles DVD’s, but sold them off, and now I just have the following:

Both Wingspan and Beatles Anthology is what is left from my DVD collection and the rest are Blu Ray’s

I also had those first tv t-shirts!! I loved my Rubber Soul one so much and wore it so often it wore out – its actually in a cupboard somewhere. That was about 18 years ago now as i got an Anthology 2 t-shirt around that time. All bought in Tower Records. a-hard-days-night-john-5

I have an understanding with my local book store, that they are to call me when they bring in any Beatles related items.  This week was a pretty great score.  Check out the new coffee/tea mug I got!  Thought I would share it with you :0)  Watch for it! a-hard-days-night-john-3

Found a copy of ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life: The Inside Story of HandMade Films’ by Robert Sellers which is something i was hoping to find after finishing ‘Behind The Locked Door’. Hopefully it’s a well written insight into the movie side business of George’s life.

And was in a charity shop in Brighton when i say a ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘ dvd. As i always do with anything Beatles i find i had a look at it only to discover its the 2014 50th anniversary 2-dvd set with what i think is a £1.80 price tag. Go to the counter and starting digging away to get the right change, hand over a £1 coin and apologise for taking an age finding the rest. She looks at me like i’m an idiot before saying it’s just £1. One pound!! No slipcase box but who cares!! Thoroughly chuffed.

I think Apple either read this book…or had a hand in writing it. Some of us fall into their categorical sweet-spot.

I buy Beatles T shirts (124 at last count),books,documentaries/films. There is a Beatles shop in Liverpool city centre which I spend way too much money in. Last Beatles related purchase was the Eight Days A Week : the touring years film on DVD. My birthday is coming up in December,so I’m definitely going to take a trip back to that shop a-hard-days-night-ringo-10

Haha thank the lord I don’t live in Liverpool. I would probably end up living in  a massive box on the side of the road filled with Beatles things.

Amazon is my curse. Search for “Beatles.” 24,248 results… Lately I restrict my buying to when someone gives me a gift card or I get an unexpected windfall, otherwise I’d be buying new junk every day… I, for one, can’t resist stuff like the Yellow Submarine mug that reveals the cartoon Beatles faces in the portholes when you fill it with hot liquid.

This thread is most amusing to me because, apart from three t-shirts, I have almost no Beatles paraphernalia, as it really doesn’t tempt me and I have no money anyway a-hard-days-night-john-6 so when I do get money, I’ve got other priorities — namely, actual music. a-hard-days-night-george-4

I do have a weakness for geeky, obscure Pink Floyd-related t-shirts, like this one.

My parents went on holiday recently, and brought me back more t shirts to add to my collection. I’ve also asked them to get me George Harrison ‘s autobiography for my birthday.

I got a load of Amazon vouchers for my birthday and Xmas, and so far, it’s been spent exclusively on Beatles stuff. I have bought (drumroll please!):

Joe’s book

Shout by Philip Norman (can’t believe,of all the Beatles books I own and have read, I still haven’t read Shout yet,but hey ho)

Help ! T-shirt

Revolver T-shirt

George Harrison ‘s autobiography

A book about Sgt Pepper

I also tried to buy a Magical Mystery Tour t-shirt,but there was none in stock! Guess I’ll have to keep looking paul-mccartney
