To be fair @Zig must be getting old so counting to 6 may be a big achievement for him.

Too funny. Some day, that might be the number of hairs on my head. At least I’ll still have three times as many as Homer.

I was raised on their music! My (then-teenaged) aunts were absolutely in love with them. They looked after me most of the time while my parents were working, and got a kick out of teaching me about the Beatles as often as possible. I only know this because they’ve told me about it; I was too young to remember. My first actual Beatle-related memory is my uncle singing Michelle and Yesterday with his girlfriend at his school concert, which I attended. Seems I come from a long line of Beatle-lovers.

I was 7 years old. My mum was listening to one of the early songs (I think it was From Me To You ) as she was doing the housework. I then noticed her Magical Mystery Tour LP on the shelf. I picked it up and laughed at the cover because they were dressed up,so I asked mum who they were. My dad is also into the band, but only likes the older stuff (Rubber Soul onwards).

I also remember Thomas The Tank Engine being quite big when I was growing up (I never missed an episode),and Ringo narrated that show a-hard-days-night-ringo-10

Out of curiousity, which song began your love for the band?

For me, it was While My Guitar Gently Weeps . I heard a Santana cover of the song and thought I’d give the original a listen and I loved it! I then went on to listen to more of their songs, such as We Can Work It Out , Revolution , Helter Skelter , Don’t Let Me Down , Things We Said Today , and I Want To Hold Your Hand , just to name a few.

What about you guys?

I Am The Walrus was a big catalyst. Early work like She Loves You as well.

Hello and welcome, @classicdreamer. You’ll see the stories of former and current forum members in this thread. Was it recently that you heard the songs and started your Beatles journey?

All My Loving

First song they played on the Ed Sullivan Show. I had just turned 10 and was lying on my stomach in my pajamas watching TV (as usual) and could not believe what I was seeing and hearing.

I remember really loving Eight Days A Week in the early days of my fandom. Still love it today of course. I made a CD playlist for my car and had this one on repeat quite a lot. Other songs included Drive My Car , Nowhere Man , Hey Jude and What You’re Doing

My dad is a big fan and made sure my brother and I were well acquainted with the Beatles from a young age. He played their music in the car on the way to preschool, and we watched their movies on long road trips. I was pretty passive about the Beatles from the ages of 8-14, and it was only in December 2017 that my true obsession began. We were driving to my grandparents’ in my dad’s new car, which came with a free year of Sirius XM. My dad was scrolling through the different channels when he spotted a Beatles Channel and, ignoring the complaints of my brother and I, turned it on. By the end of that car ride, I was reminded of the Beatles’ brilliance, and over the next few months I busied myself familiarizing myself with their music and their lives. Now, of course, I’m a die-hard Beatlemaniac. a-hard-days-night-george-9

@josiekwf, you asked about stories from the people who were Beatlemaniacs     (beatlemaniacs_02_gif) in the 60s

https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..s/#p341298

I did a Google search for oral history of Beatles fans. Here’s a link for my search results: https://www.google.com/search?q=“oral+history”+Beatles+fans&oq=”oral+history”+Beatles+fans&aqs=chrome..69i57.17183j1j4&client=ms-android-att-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

I do hope more Beatles fans from the 60’s tell their stories before they go to be with John and George.
