GnikNus, I think they don't like it because it confuses less-enthusiastic Beatles fans. My sister thinks the “The End ” drum solo is from “Get Back ” because of the Love CD..
I see how that would be confusing. I got the cd for my dad for Christmas and he just said that he likes the tracks as they are originally, so he didn't really like the mash-ups. But I think that Love is as close as the Beatles will ever get to releasing a “greatest hits” and of course the Beatles can't just release a “normal” greatest hits cd. They were the Beatles, the most inventive band ever, so they had to play songs backwards and things like that in anything they would release nowadays.

I don't like it when “I Want To Hold Your Hand ” from LOVE comes up on the iPod in shuffle. It goes straight into “And when I touch you, I feel happy inside” when I'm still singing, “Oh, please, say to me you'll let me be your man.”
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

OK, I've got a challenge for you guys. The beginning of this discussion can be found in the “Yesterday … and today” forum under the thread “When people make fun of the Beatles…”.
For those who don't want to read the thread, the question is this:
What song would you play to someone to convince them of the Beatles' ultimate awesomeness? This, of course, is before you tell them it's the Beatles.
I'm not sure what I would do (I might have to cheat and use the Abbey Road medley), which is why I'm asking you.
IFI had to pick just one song I'd play either “Helter Skelter ” – cause NO ONE would expect this to be a Beatles song or their most awesome song “Tomorrow Never Knows “.
But my favourite converter-track is the “Love”-remix with “Tomorrow Never Knows ” and “Withinyou without you”.
That's a good idea, playing a Love track, just because I think it sounds so modern and awesome. Love is such a cool cd, I don't understand why some Beatles fans don't like it. But if I had to play someone one track from Love, it would be the Strawberry Fields Forever track, which has to be the best song ever put together.
Yeah, but you don't want them to love “Love”, you want them to love The Beatles. To me, the “Love” album isn't a beatles album. It's just a remix project.

I agree that it's not the first cd that I would give to someone, but I would definitely give them a track or two to listen to just because the tracks are so cool. There's nothing wrong with loving Love, I mean it is done completely with Beatle material by the man who knew the Beatles better than anyone, so it's not “just a remix project.”

But it's also great for newbies because they condensated some songs to the key moments (I like how they shortened IWTHYH and Hey Jude ). And the remix of TNK and WYWY sounds totally stunning, especially to newbies. “Wow, THAT is the Beatles??!!” is the usual reaction.
I didn't like how they shortened those two songs, I think the hidden verses deserve to be heard. But I agree, it's a very refreshing album, and it's fun to listen to.
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

Please elaborate, Sokrates: “Beatles album” mixed with “other songs” – you mean from another band or artist, correct?
Otherwise your post wouldn't make sense, since it still would all be the Beatles.
Please point out where those other artist's songs are hidden, since I can't hear anything else but The Beatles here, sorry.
I know you already proved your superiour analytic brain when showing me how mistaken I was about Paul singing the transition in ADITL, so I'm very sure you're right AGAIN here.
Anyway, to ME this is a brilliant album that gave me a totally fresh listening experience – after listening to all their albums for 25 years now!
Of course it's better for freak fans like me who recognize most of the parts.

So, think what you want and work on your English and your quotation!!
Seriously, Mr Big, I feel like your criticizing my work. I mean I did buy it for my dad, so basically that means I put it all together. And I tried my best, damnit! I really tried and all I won was a damn grammy for it that took instead of me.

I mean no disrespect, but it's just not a beatles album to me.
Paulsbass: I'm a different person on different threads. Also, my English is great. Furthermore, you're being kind of a troll. No offense, but you just come off as one.

Not a fan of the shortened “I Want To Hold Your Hand ” or “Hey Jude .” I mean, if you're going to go, “Na, na, na, na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, Hey Jude ” for an extended period of time, four minutes makes a better outro than two. 😉
Anyone else here think paulsbass and MrBig have a feud? Hope they never meet in real life, because I've got a feeling it would be nasty.

I hope I'm there!!! Anyways, took me about 5 minutes to figure out IWTHYH was. 1 minute thinking, 3 thinking it meant Within You Without You , another minute realizing that couldn't be right and correcting myself. The other songs are Beatles songs, just not the part that was their when they made the song. “Love” is like a giant puzzle where George, Giles, and GnikNus made all the pieces to fit the way they wanted to and they made it work!

It depends on the person’s taste you are trying to convince. I know people who would love ADITL, but others who would prefer Helter Skelter . It depends.

I don't know if this is relevant to this topic, but at my birthday party me and my friends watched Help !, and I think that movie's really funny, and so I laughed quite a bit while we were watching it, but none of them really got the humor so they were all looking at me like i was crazy or something! The esiting thing about it though, was that like three of them were enlightened by it and they asked to borrow to CD so they can get the songs on their iPods!
I tried getting my cousin into The Beatles by making her watch AHDN and then again with Help !, but it didnt't work and she refused to watch their other movies. So then when I got Beatles RB she played that with me and she really liked Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight /The End so I gave her Abbey Road and she went backwards, so now she likes pretty much all of their music!

hmmmm…. I couldn't choose!! I'd probably give them about five, before I told them it was The Beatles:
All My Loving (Great song)
Abbey Road Medley (it's just too good!!)
Honey Don't (just for Ringo)
Strawberry Fields Forever (Great song, makes me cry when I listen to it)
This Boy (Ringo's Theme!!!)
Sorry, but I'm not so fond of George *9+9*
"Hoop? That isn't a hoop, It's a lethal weapon, have you got a license for it?" -Ringo
