There’s a topic on ‘The Best Ways To Listen To The Beatles’, but as far as I know there isn’t a thread for how we really get our Beatles fix.
In reality, I generally end up playing the Beatles when I’m doing housework, on a rather modest CD player. Usually I sing along to whatever harmonies there are, and I try to keep it balanced by neither neglecting or overplaying any one album. 🙂
How do you Beatles?

I have a massive Beatles library in my iTunes so there is plenty of options of what to listen to, not just the studio albums – currently going thru the BBC archive slowly. I generally go thru periods of listening to certain albums and then don’t for a while but on my ipod the core canon is always on it tho the mixes may change.
Aside from that i’m on here, reading ‘Tune In’ and the regular visiting of some Beatles online sites.

I have a library of Beatles books I haven’t finished, and I’m slowly reading several books here and there. I’ll just take one off the shelf occasionally and read it in my easy chair.
I have a Beatles & Elvis iPod, on which there are those two artists and also related artists. Most of the material is ripped from the CDs and box sets on the shelves in my Beatles and Elvis room.
I listen to whatever catches my fancy while working in the office. I have Beatles solo albums, needle drops of classic Beatles vinyl, the Capitol and US albums, the official UK albums and compilations, the Get Back sessions, live shows, bootlegs and interviews.
Occasionally I will watch a movie or a live concert DVD of The Beatles or a solo Beatle at night.
On a rare occasion I will put a Beatles or Beatles-related record on the turntable.
Once I threw a John Lennon party.
I have also seen Paul and Ringo in concert.
I also like to see Beatles exhibits or other Beatley things when I travel.
Lately, though, I only listen to The Beatles when I get tired of hearing Elvis–because I am obsessed with Elvis.

Really simple: log into the Fab Forum. That will often lead to YouTube or other sites to hear a song or follow a link, but it always starts here.

So true…….
A friend of mine had a couple of fat books on the wine Chateaux’s of France……If it was just us there, (he didn’t do it when he had important guests) he would select and bring up a bottle from the cellar and while it breathed look it up in his books. He would then read aloud all it said about that bottle and it’s vintage……This little ceremony helped me to appreciate what I was drinking a little more than just throwing it down my throat……As I suspect was his intention!!
The things I’ve learnt from others on here…and from the ‘Songs’ section has often whetted my pallet for another listen….and a fresh appreciation.

Books. Finished Spitz’ book a week ago and I haven’t truly put Tune In on the shelf.
Music. Always creating new Beatles playlists and on my phone, I have a different Beatles ringtone for my wife and my kids.
D’Web. I search so much stuff on YT that just logging in has the page covered in Beatles video recommendations. Same when I go into Google News because I created a field for Beatles-related stuff. Also Here, There And Everywhere else.
Tube: The Anthology DVD box set is still beside the TV and not on the shelf with the rest of DVDs.
Work. Down the hall is a 68-year old Japanese guy who plays Beatles music in his office all day long. He’s a Lennonista, so you can image… but we get along just fine.

Yep, that about sums it up for me……… Love all the Beatles stuff I’ve collected over the years all in one neat little bundle on an iPod/iPhone or on my computer with iTunes. Can play it on my home stereo, my car stereo, with headphones or even without headphones on my iPhone. Adequate little built in speaker.
That’s how I Beatle!

I liked your format, so I hope you don’t mind that I copied it…
Books: I was an avid reader most of my life until medical problems interfered 🙁 I have the Davies book The Beatles on my shelf and struggle through a few pages every week or so, but mostly I just envy y’all when you mention some juicy bit of trivia you found in a book, and try to learn as much from the books as possible vicariously through your posts 😉
I mostly listen to the canon in the car, not necessarily in order, and including the singles. Only one car speaker works, so I generally stick with mono stuff (luckily I have the mono box cd set). At home, usually whenever I’m not watching tv I’ve got music on. Still mostly Beatles, but solo stuff when the mood hits me. It seems I rarely go outside of the Beatles together or solo except when I’m youtubing. I surf youtube a couple times a week and end up listening to some strange stuff sometimes (Pomplamoose, Pentatonix), some old stuff (Everly Bros., S&G) most of the time ;)…I go all over the map on youtube, from old blues to some 21ct century stuff. Hmm…Pentatonix, Everlys, S&G – I should nudge the “I miss the harmonies” topic again 😉
I’ve never been one for playlists. I feel like the order the songs are on the album is the artist’s intended playlist, so I like to listen to that. Although I will occasionally listen to 1 (actually, the only playlist I have is a “full” version of ‘1’, with all the #1s whether US or UK (not to dis the rest of the world but to include them all would change little and be a pita ;). I do have a Beatles ringtone, a clip from a real song (the chorus of Hello Goodbye ). If anyone reading hasn’t checked your cellphone provider for something called “caller ringtones” (it is/was called that on Tmobile and AT&T in the states at least), do so. When someone calls you, they hear a song of your choice rather than the traditional sound of a phone ringing – which of course is just a recorded sound these days anyway! My current carrier, AT&T, discontinued it for lack of demand, but it’s really cool (I had to pay $2 USD for the app plus $1.99/song/year – when they turned it off they sent me a rebate check for $1.28 for unused time lol). Lots of people commented on it (I had the line from Bulldog “you can talk to me…”).
Web: I’m bombarded by multimedia from the web. Whether its the aforementioned youtubes, new stories, facebook memes and video clips, whatever. Rewatching the first 4 seasons of GoT on HBOgo and innumerable outtakes & interviews 😉 I get into iso tracks anon, usually spending a marathon session every few weeks.
Tube: usually my other passion, classic movies. But the dvr catches some good music stuff on Palladia (concert movies, Jools Halland), and my favorite show is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (catch some of his bits on youtube – he’s really great at satirically informing you of society’s ills!). One of his favorite targets is FIFA 😉
As usual, I’ve rambled on a bit…

Thanks for all the replies!
I bring to thee more queries:
When you Beatle, do you generally do albums at a time, or individual songs, or do you have playlists, or just put the iPod on shuffle?
I always play the albums. I almost never skip songs because it seems sacrilegious to me and the only playlist I have is for non-album singles (until I can acquire Past Masters , I suppose… ah for the days of vinyl 45’s). And as I have alluded to elsewhere, the tracklistings are VERY well ingrained into my mind/being.

I do the following:
Albums
Individual songs (in the car when I’m a passenger with my iPod)
Playlists (sometimes CD-length combinations of songs, sometimes playlists containing multiple albums in chronological order that last for days)
Shuffle (but I get tired of this very easily. I need to mark more things such as interviews and band practice sessions as “skip when shuffling.” I had it set up this way before but I had to recreate iTunes).
