I’ve been Here, There And Everywhere for the last few weeks dealing with new baby stuff, and this site has suffered a lack of updates. I know there’s been a ton of Paul McCartney news, in particular, but I could do with some help making sense of it all.
I don’t write about TV appearances, as there are far too many to stay on top of (and many people can’t see them due to country restrictions etc). So I won’t be covering Paul on Jimmy Fallon, Graham Norton etc.
I thought I’d begin a to-do list here, but I would appreciate any input from you all. Here’s an initial draft list:
- ‘New’ album release (blog post)
- ‘New’ song pages (inc Queenie Eye video)
- Covent Garden (London) appearance and HMV signing
- Paul live at Maida Vale, El Capitan, Times Square, NY school, and iHeartRadio festival
- Ringo’s Photograph and Octopus’s Garden book publications (blog posts)
Is there anything else major that I’ve missed? I don’t do rumours, only confirmed news. Help ! I know there’s a separate Beatles news thread, which is excellent, but it contains more info than I can realistically cover.

Thanks – wasn’t that the El Capitan Outdoor Stage? I’m writing about it now.

Oh! I didn’t realize you were calling it that. El Capitan is an old palace theatre on the same street now owned by Disney (which owns ABC, where Jimmy Kimmel airs), so I guess that’s what they call the stage when they put it up. But I don’t think most people would recognize it with that title. It would be more recognizable either as the Hollywood Blvd concert or the Jimmy Kimmel Live show concert.

I went through the news thread items back to July, and tried to pick out more or less major stuff you may or may not already have:
Paul
* Straight No Chaser’s “Wonderful Christmastime” using original Paul vocals.
* Paul in the Red Hot + Fela video.
* High in the Clouds movie in production.
* “New” on the “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” soundtrack
* Bloody Beetroots single.
George
* George Harrison Day commemorating the 50th anniversary of his trip to Illinois
* Dhani’s cover of “For You Blue ” – a few links at this page.
Ringo
* Ringo receiving the French Medal of Honor.
* Frank Sinatra recording for Maureen’s bday.
General
* Peter Blake reimagining Sgt. Pepper for his 80th birthday.
* Stuart exhibition in NY.

Thanks for that. I’ll do something on the Simply Shakespeare benefit, possibly not today though. I’ll work through the rest when I have a bit of time. Really useful to have the info there.
Regarding El Capitan, I was going by the venue/concert names on setlist.fm. I’ve published the article now, and put Kimmel’s name in brackets in the headline.

Cool, I saw when I was checking to see what you had so I didn’t duplicate too much in the list.
