I think this could be a great way to get The Beatles music introduced to a new generation and of course they’d go back to hearing the original songs but it allows The Beatles’ music to be played in settings that it wouldn’t normally be played

Atrocious, in my humble opinion.

I had a feeling it wouldn’t be to the liking of everyone, and some would find it quite distasteful but the Beatles lyrics set to music in the format of what the kids are listening to this day can only be a good thing for their enduring legacy

Ask @Beatlebug or @WeepingAtlasCedars or many others if they are listening to that, or had any interest in wanting to, I’m sure the answer would be no.
They are Trojan Horses devoid of the soul, spirit and beauty of The Beatles.
You do not have to, and should not, twist The Beatles music to appeal to every sub-market?
Those who need The Beatles in their lives, and will be enriched by their music, they shall find it as The Beatles left it for us to hear.
There are lots of young Beatles fans on here. They’re not losing their appeal too much.

Why us? Just because we’re young people? Neither of our tastes run to electronic noise, thank you very much. I’m sure there are some forum members who like to listen to that kind of music, as well as (unadulterated) Beatles, but not us.
Erm, sorry if that came off as a little brusque. It’s a sore spot with me, when folk assume I am supposed to like something based on the highly irrelevant factor of my age.
Now please excuse me whilst I rinse the blood from my ears.

But that was the point I was making, in response to @Bullion suggesting it could introduce a “new generation” to their music. I was merely pointing out that a new generation are doing very well at discovering their music without needing it to be messed with.

Ah, I see. I was a bit hasty.
My point, I think, was running along parallel lines — that I don’t normally (read: ever) listen to that kind of music, so there is no reason I would be ‘introduced’ to the Beatles by it.
It’s a bit misleading, anyway, if you think that the first ten seconds of Here Comes The Sun (which is all I could suffer through ) sounds like that and then you hear the original and it is actually ‘acoustic guitars, played by people, into microphones and onto tape’, to snag a George quote.

I’m a young’n and I dislike this stuff too. I feel like the more active young people on this forum dislike this stuff. Probably more of the less active young’ns might be into this stuff.

We didn’t get that “bump” in users after that Glee show like we thought we might. Let The Beatles music stand as is. When the time comes in their life, people will find it. If they know good music, they will be swept off their feet.

No need to tarnish the Beatles with this genre. There are real artists making electronic dance music, who actually exert musical creativity when making songs. Whoever made this remix wasn’t one of those artists. I’m bothered by the entire scene. It’s a little bit to aggressive for me.
Not to say that there aren’t diamonds in the rough. Wyatt Estes comes to mind.

I just think the best way to introduce people to Beatles’ music is by making them listen to the real Beatles music, maybe listening to a house remix of a Beatles song could be a nice introduction to house music style.

Paul McCartney’s ‘One on One’ tour shattered sales record for Van Andel Arena
Beatles music played pretty true to the original is still pulling in the people. I know there have been lots of young people at the McCartney concerts I’ve been to.

If given the choice between house remixes or myself being beaten savagely by a man with a club and then having to listen to it back i’d be choosing the latter as it would be less irritating and painful.

Don’t pick on the genre, pick on the remix. Remixes are lazy, do a house cover and inject some originality into it, that will be a lot better. Some genres just don’t work with some songs, at least choose one that is open to that interpretation instead of just throwing a 140bpm kick behind it.

The reviewer at that concert seemed to like it:
Being in the same room as McCartney performed “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da ” Monday put me directly in the moment, the now, feeling like it’s the only sing-along that matters – that ever mattered. Then he did it again for “Hey Jude .” And a third time for “Let it Be.” These are the kind of songs so brilliant, simple and cherry-sweet, so ubiquitous, they’ve become part of our cultural DNA. People will be singing them long after you and I have crumbled to dust. McCartney’s knighthood seems paltry. Sainthood seems more appropriate.
Jeez, was that review ghost written by @Ahhh Girl?

Ahhh Girl, Beatlebug, WeepingAtlasCedarsI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.
