I think you’re getting album review mixed up with the brief “bon mots” Paul gave on the sleeve of Get Back . Lennon was RS’ in to the Beatles… and John was way to busy to leak that to Rolling Stone. And anyways, most things you read are false. People get facts wrong, and it snowballs into something far from the truth.

According to Beatle folklore, in the latter part of 1969, promotional copies of the Get Back album were distributed to radio stations (and other media outlets) in the United States. The September 20, 1969 issue of Rolling Stone magazine even featured a review of the album. In fact, no promotional copies of the album were released to anyone.
I have no idea if this is it, my guess is its not as its supposedly written by Mal Evans and i cant see that being true, but here is a link to a scan of review which was used on the back of a Get Back bootleg (the reason i know this is it was one of the first bootlegs i ever bought). It may be what you are thinking of.
And just because its on the back of a bootleg doesnt mean it has to be fake, some bootlegs came with great artwork and rare info.
Edit: It appears that that scan was a supposed press release so not the Rolling Stone review.
No google search i did brought up the RS review itself.

An alleged 1969 press release written by Mal Evans, which describes the Get Back album, indicates “Rocker/Save The Last Dance” and “Maggie Mae ” as “link tracks”.
