Everyone focuses on Beatles albums (quite rightly of course), but during the ’60’s their producer George Martin himself also came out with several albums under the name “George Martin and His Orchestra”. It’s more martini lounge stuff, violins, horns, and well… orchestra instruments! One of the first albums I bought was titled “Off The Beatle Track”, it has lots of early Beatle songs played by his orchestra.
I’m thinking- this is George Martin in his real element. Maybe he always dreamt of being an orchestra conductor or who knows? But the film A Hard Days Night gives a flavor of his orchestral talents as well. Many songs from that film were recorded via orchestra by Martin.
I collected just about all of George Martin’s orchestra albums from the ’60’s, a real nice addition to any Beatles record collection. Very nice chill music.

Great stuff. In fact, i prefer his version of I Should Have Known Better to The Beatles original.
