John would have still been handsome nonetheless

Must ask a question or thread will stagnate…
What if a religious nutcase from Memphis, Tennessee had shot at the Beatles in concert in 1966?

With a ring like that, Spinetti could rule the world.

Then Paul would eventually put down that it’s either him or Stu in the band.

You would’ve been named Dhani nonetheless
As it so happens, Dhani and I are exactly the same height.

What if Allan Williams’ van had crashed to Earth or into the water on the way to Hamburg?
The Beatles would have been either wetter or flatter than they were, depending on which it was.
What if George had never seen a 12-string guitar in his life?

Hmm. . . Then he would of been a blind guitarist and would further help people who are unable to see.
What if George never went to the Liverpool Institute?

Very good, AD40! I expect he would have been a fine guitarist despite his disability.
Then he couldn’t tell John it’s the Institution and that line in Revolution would not have been written.
What if the car accident in 1966, instead of taking Paul’s life, had only taken his hearing?

We would have a bunch of “Paul is deaf” clues such as:
1) Paul not responding to Ringo’s “Where’s the bus” question in MMT.
2) The way Paul had to keep repeating the “na na” line in Hey Jude . If you listen very closely on headphones, you can faintly hear somebody go “Eh?” in left speaker after each one.
3) The periodic screaming in Oh Darling for the hard of hearing.
What if George Martin kept Ringo on drums during Love Me Do recording and used session guitarists instead?

He’d do fine in the 70’s, make piss poor songs in the 80’s like “Well Dressed Adult” and “Hands”, hide behind a fence in the 90’s, become hip again in the 00’s, and become a devout Christian in the 10’s and have a TV show on A&E where he kills ducks and talks about his love for Jesus and most importantly, he’d still be using his Rickenbacker bass instead of his weak Hofner.
What if The Beatles made these changes to their 1966 US Yesterday And Today tour (contrary to popular belief, their final tour was to promote their Yesterday And Today album, not their Revolver album, no joke):
1. They switched around the instruments.
Before:
John Lennon : Epiphone Casino, Gibson J-160E as backup
Paul McCartney : Hofner, Rickenbacker as backup
George Harrison : Epiphone Casino, Gibson SG as backup, Rickenbacker 12-string for 12-string songs
After:
John Lennon : Epiphone Casino, Gibson J-160E for acoustic songs, Rickenbacker 325 as backup
Paul McCartney : Rickenbacker, Hofner as backup
George Harrison : Fender Stratocaster, Rickenbacker 12-string for 12-string songs, Gibson SG as backup
2. They didn’t give Ringo a song to sing
3. They now have Drive My Car , 1 song from Yesterday And Today, and 2 songs from the US Rubber Soul album to the setlist
4. They now had 3 solo sections during one song for each member, an extended guitar solo for George, a bass solo for Paul, and a drum solo for Ringo
5. They took out 2 songs from this list
- “Rock and Roll Music” (John Lennon )
- “She’s a Woman” (Paul McCartney)
- “Baby’s in Black” (Lennon and McCartney)
- “I Feel Fine” (Lennon)
- “Yesterday” (McCartney)
- “Long Tall Sally” (McCartney)
6. They had the Jimi Hendrix Experience open for them
7. They released a 14 track live album with 2 intermission tracks containing interviews with the band members
Please make up the live album when answering this next question as well as just answering it.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience did not form until September 1966, so they’d have to change the dates.
Insulting to them and Ringo to think any version of the group wouldn’t give him a live vocal.
In case you haven’t noticed, Ringo doesn’t do drum solos. His only Beatles drum solo he had to be conned into, and the Beatles were never a group for big splashy solos from any of them to want them.

1. Did I say The Jimi Hendrix Experience, I meant The Beach Boys .
2. Fine, he gets to sing What Goes On .
3. The End isn’t his only drum solo, he has quite a few of them, such as the viola/drum solo of Hello Goodbye .

I always enjoy reading @Ron Nasty’s posts about why @Dark Overlord’s fantasy scenarios won’t work.
Who doesn’t, I love it when Ron Nasty corrects me, it’s funny sometimes because you know when Ron comes to correct you that he’s right, I wonder if the Rutles character is as smart as him. Anyways, did you answer my question @Ron Nasty or did you just tell me what was wrong about it.

We often consider The End to contain Ringo’s only drum solo with the Beatles. But how would you categorize his intro to What You’re Doing ? He’s just drumming a riff, but we hear it by itself for several seconds.
