Getting Better . I like the groovy rhythm guitar driving the song forward, and the optimism it expresses.

Sgt. Pepper title track or Sgt. Pepper (Reprise)?

I love the speaking between the songs on Let It Be , but I prefer Let It Be … Naked because it has Don’t Let Me Down .

Disc 1 or disc 2 of the White Album ?

Disc 1. It has WMGGW and I Will — what more could I ask for in life?

Pattie or Olivia?

Ringo’s beard, I prefer Paul’s bearded 1969 look to his mullet one.

Stu on bass or Pete on drums?

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Pete on drums. Stu on bass is pretty much unbearable to listen to, even if it is “better to have a bass player who can’t play than no bass player at all.”

John Lennon /Plastic Ono Band or Imagine ?

Isn't he a bit like you and me?

JL/POB. Surely it belongs to my all-time favourite category, it touches my soul by its painful sincerity. My favourite solo Beatle work.

Ram or Band On The Run ?

Ram . It has Dear Boy and Ram On and The Back Seat Of My Car and it’s so good.

Living In The Material World . It has Give Me Love, The Light That Has Lighted The World, and Living in the Material world, to name a few. It’s a really great album.

To follow the pattern, Red Rose Speedway or Back To The Egg ?

Isn't he a bit like you and me?

Red Rose Speedway , mainly down to the sheer beauty of Little Lamb Dragonfly and the medley, and also the awesome bonus tracks that came out on the archive release (I Would Only Smile, Mama’s Little Girl etc.) a-hard-days-night-paul-7

McCartney or McCartney II ?

Lady Madonna should win for that Ronnie Scott solo alone. As for the written parts…I think they overwhelm the actual “Savoy Truffle ” song, in the same fashion as Paul’s fuzz bass in Think For Yourself . They’re a bit more conventionally swinging on Lady Madonna . So LM it is.

Ringo: leading a woman into a muddy hole or falling through a hole in a pub’s floor?

Devil Woman . Ringo sounds pretty damn badass on that one, and the guitars are really raw.

Paul’s guitar solo on Taxman or Good Morning Good Morning

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,

Taxman . Mainly because it’s more memorable, I can even hum it now.

John’s guitar playing on Revolution or Get Back

I like the overdriven tone more in Revolution , but what he’s actually playing in Get Back is more interesting to me, so Get Back

Money (That’s What I Want) or Twist And Shout as an album closer?

Tough. I like Money more as a song, but Twist And Shout is a better closer, so Twist And Shout .

John or George on bass?

She Said She Said is way more technical, so it wins completely.

In His Own Write or I Me Mine ?
