Have to go with Twist And Shout . John’s vocal is amazing, especially considering he had a bad cold at the time it was recorded.

Favourite film: Yellow Submarine or Help ?

Yellow Submarine because I loved the art style, and I adore the quote from that movie. (I’ve got a hole in me pocket!)

Rubber Soul songs (my favorite album): Girl or Think For Yourself

As much as I’m a George stan, I love Girl more than Think For Yourself . (yes I do @Ahhh Girl john-lennon-salute_gif)

Nicer hair: Jane or Pattie?

Well, they’re both spectacularly coiffed, obviously. And all things equal, I’d choose a redhead, but ultimately Pattie’s elaborately sculpted ‘do is too tough to beat, even by Jane. (I mean, just look: pattie-boyd_02_gif!)

“Mary” songs! “Long Tall Sally ” or “Let It Be “??

The following people thank vonbontee for this post:

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I’m So Tired because I like how it is a bit more figurative in meaning.  I also really like the contrast between the beginning part and the line “I’d give you everything I got for a little peace of mind”

On that note

Angsty John songs: Help ! or Yer Blues ?

Why was this post ignored?

EDIT: Nevermind. I misread Beatlebug’s post and got confused.

Let It Be definitely. I just think it’s a better song.

Things We Said Today means a lot more to me — it’s more soulful and melancholy — I guess I just like balladsy songs. Plus the chord progression is an outstanding piece of work that goes all over the place into two different keys and yet still flows very naturally.

Paul songs from Beatles For Sale : Every Little Thing (yes this was a Paul song) or What You’re Doing ?

What if I like them bothhh? ahdn_paul_01

For real though I’m pretty sure Every Little Thing is probably my favorite on the whole album (I guess it just does it for meahdn_john_08_gif). What You’re Doing is also amazing of course.

Paul songs on Please Please Me : P.S. I Love You or I Saw Her Standing There ?

EDIT: looks like I have 911 posts on here.  I’ll be expecting an ambulance any minute now.

I would go with I Saw Her Standing There . It’s a favorite of mine, plus it has a lot of energy and is a fantastic opener for Please Please Me .

Paul’s album openers: Reception or Magical Mystery Tour ?

Be groovy or leave, man.

Magical Mystery Tour for me. It’s just very fun and vibrant, even if I rarely play it I always enjoy it when I do.

Explicitly political Beatles songs: Taxman or Revolution

Beatlebug

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’d choose Taxman . One of my favourites, and I love the fact that they managed to get the prime minister’s name into a pop song. I believe it was loosely based on the Batman theme tune from the TV series starring the late Adam West, so that’s pretty cool too I think.

Here’s a tough one. Solo John vs Solo George. God or My Sweet Lord ?ahdn_george_01

My Sweet Lord because I’m a diehard George stan and that song sounds so pastoral and lovely. a-hard-days-night-george-9

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8VERY debatable, Woman is one of my favourite John songs.

I think Fiddy already knows what I’m going to go with. TEMPORARY! Honestly my favourite Paul song, it’s so catchy and weird. I get Devo/Kraftwerk vibes from it.

Album cover with the boys looking downwards towards the camera: Please Please Me or Rubber Soul

Rubber Soul ! It’s among my top 3 Beatles album covers, with that psychedelic feeling and the boys looking amazing.

To add some John love into the thread: Love or Oh My Love?

arrrrrgh I can’t choose between those two. I guess I’ll go with Oh My Love because George plays guitar on it*. ahdn_george_06

Music video: Strawberry Fields Forever or Penny Lane ?

Tough as I like both, but I’ll go for Rocking Horses. I just love the whole vibe of the song, the trippiness of it. Definitely has a whole LSD feel about it, despite their denials.

Speaking of drugs,2 songs believed to include drug references: Fixing A Hole or Day Tripper ?

Fixing A Hole because, as great as Day Tripper is, Fixing A Hole is very near and dear to my heart. It’s just got such a spunky don’t-give-a-damn vibe that I find very appealing.

Plasticine porters or newspaper taxis?
