From Songfacts: Paul McCartney “shouted out” to several of his relatives and friends in this song: his aunt (“Auntie Gin”) and brother (“Brother Michael”), the Everly Brothers (“Phil and Don”), Keith Moon (“Uncle Ernie”) and his famous former bandmate (“Brother John”). His reference to “Sister Suzie” was a reference to Linda, who once recorded a song under the name “Suzie And The Red Stripes.”
Paul McCartney told The Mail on Sunday‘s Event magazine: “When we went to Jamaica on holiday, a lot of the local guys used to call Linda ‘Susie’ for some reason. And we kind of liked that. Then ‘brother John’ – I would be thinking either of John Lennon , or Linda’s brother, John. But the weirdest thing is, my wife now, Nancy, has a sister Susie and a brother John.”
SB: In a somewhat related song to the subject matter, Paul makes a charming recovery while singing Here Today the other night.

I wanted to wait a little bit and if nobody else came up with something I’d have closed with God (I was the walrus, but now I’m John). But then I got quite busy for a few days.

We have some nice creative responses here. Not really what I was going for. I was hoping for something like printing goofs, announcers saying wrong things, or factual errors from the authors in poorly written Beatle books. A lot of these are based on opinions and such. I think the Little Annie Fanny one was more a joke than an genuine error. But it looks like we’ll never finish the list if I get too nitpicky and strict. Let us proceed.

I don’t think so – it’s seems more likely to me that middle-aged 1965 cartoonists just really weren’t sure which Beatle was which, with the exception of Ringo (who was the most famous one to a lot of non-fans in those days)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

13. Please Please Me /Ask Me Why was the first official Beatles record in the United States. It was released by Chicago R&B label, Vee-Jay records, on February 20, 1963. Oddly, the record company spelled Beatles with two T’s.
While researching ideas for a new subject, I was surprised to discover how many lyrics reference “eyes“. There are so many why don’t we list two pairs of eyes per answer. No need to list the song title unless it’s super obscure…
