1. If I Fell (I enjoy the harmonies in this song)
2. One After 909 (A very special Beatles song, since we have recorded examples so as to hear it develop over nearly a full decade)
3. I’ve Just Seen A Face (We hadn’t had a proper Beatles album released in the states in nearly a year. When I dropped the needle on Rubber Soul it sounded like an angel playing guitar in heaven.
4. Arrow Through Me (This is a juicy theme! I’ve been mulling it over since you posted.)

Nevertheless, very atypical Beatles song, with more than a hint of Chuck Berry in the precise, jokey lyricism and hints of Spain in the guitar fills, appropriate to the setting.)

13. Hold Me Tight (It’s really growing on me. Yes, John and George would rather have been getting a lecture on the history of potted fish but it has… Nope. I cannot do it. The song sucks.)
13. Run For Your Your Life – Nearly everyone hates the song but it’s a damn fine track, doesn’t even rank near the the worst song on ‘Rubber Soul ‘.

That’s another Beatles song which may not neccessarily be a great song, but is actually a really good composition. The film Across The Universe gives it a little bit more flavour and contrast and puts it in a musical number and suddenly it’s great.
