13. Jackie DeShannon – singing “What the World Needs Now Is Love” (1964 North American tour)

13 Beatles songs with a lyric that mentions the day of the week. I made sure there are 13 songs (note-one of them might be kinda tricky).

1. Honey Don’t – Saturday and Sunday

13 personal reflections on one of the people represented on the Sgt. Pepper ‘s album cover

2. I grew up loving all the old time comedians and was glad to see Huntz Hall here.  He was part of the Bowery Boy movies.  Leo Gorcey played the leader as a likable tough guy and Huntz Hall played the idiot.  But hardly anybody else in the gang seemed to have any lines.  TCM stll shows their old movies on occasion.  But that seems to have devolved into a separate pay channel now.  Boo Hiss!  I don’t recall any Beatle saying they were a fan of Huntz or the Boys in a interview.  Still, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick may have modeled his look after Huntz.  And Cheap Trick played with John at some Double Fantasy sessions.  There’s a cosmic connection for you!

@Jolly Jimmy Sorry I didn’t see this subject through. Your contribution cracked me up. When I was 11 or so a new tv frequency called UHF became available in the states. The reception was awful and the programming was mostly old movies and wrestling. At 3:00 (just as school was letting out) they would show Bowery Boy movies. Somehow my friends and I got the big idea that these were naughty flicks for adults only. Of course we ran home everyday to watch what we thought was forbidden. I checked out one of the movies on youtube when you posted this and I can’t for the life of me fathom what we were thinking.a-hard-days-night-ringo-6I will say now as an adult that some of the slapstick did made me laugh.
