List correction:

13 PLACES THE BEATLES PERFORMED THAT NO LONGER EXIST

1. International Amphitheater, Chicago, IL – Beatles did a show 9/5/64. It was demolished in 1999.
2. The Cavern Club, Mathew Street, Liverpool – Beatles played there 292 times. While there is still a Cavern Club on Mathew Street, it is a rebuild further up the street; the original was demolished in 1973
3. Candlestick Park, San Francisco, CA – Site of last official Beatles concert on 8/29/66.  Place was gradually torn down starting in 2013.  Giants and 49ers play in new stadiums.
4. Odeon Cinema, London Road, Liverpool – On December 7, 1963, The Beatles played twice at one of Liverpool’s largest cinemas which was also the venue for the northern premier of A Hard Day’s Night in 1964. The cinema was recently demolished and is currently being developed as part of a £35m project to build 500 student homes.

It did close in 1962, @Magill, but the basement rooms weren’t changed in any way, and in the 2000’s it was reopened as a tourist attraction. What JJ is looking for in this list are buildings that have been demolished or no longer exist for some other reason.

13 Beatles songs that don’t maintain a consistent tempo throughout:

13. You Never Give Me Your Money

It doesn’t matter now, but I don’t think this one should’ve counted;  it stays at the same speed, start to finish.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

As already said, @Magill, if the building is still standing it does not count for this round. The building must no longer exist. If the building is owned by different people, or has a different use, it doesn’t matter, the actual building still exists (very few buildings have the same owners and/or are used for the exact same purpose with the same name 50/60 years later).

It is whether the building still exists, @Magill, not whether it still has the same name and/or a different use.

The building that housed the Top Ten Club still exists, and is currently a place of worship. Had it been demolished and a different building had been built on the site, it would count, but it is the same building that they once played in.

Where can I get the Holey Bible?

Hey @Magill, just wanted to make sure you knew Holey and I were just joking around. The Beatles Bible House (BBH) is an imaginary place where all forum members are welcome to let their inner Beatle out in any way they see fit. Anything is possible there as the laws of physics do not apply. There is a room with your name on it if you are interested! Sometimes things that happen there may leak over into the forum proper. Just to be clear, our Holey did not write this book (at least I don’t believe he did a-hard-days-night-paul-7). Here is the link if you want to visit sometime.john-lennon-salute_gif

I’d like to thank a T-shirt I bought several years ago showing Beatles American tour of 1964.  I checked Wikipedia to see what exists and what is gone.  I will now sit back and watch you guys complete list.  I will only do this again if we get stuck.  By the way, I see the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg is still going strong.

You are all my friends.
