Both of these the lead singer is John. For you know my name, both Paul and John are lead singers, but John is the one who sings the backing vocal part.

So what you’re saying is that YKMN should be amended to John and The Word be discounted? I agree with the word, but according to https://www.beatlesbible.com/s…..he-number/
‘vocals’ means both lead and backing on other pages, and only George sings backing whereas John, Paul and Ringo are all credited with ‘vocals’…
Which would make the list look like this:
13 Beatles songs where lead singer sings harmony with himself.
1. All My Loving (Paul)
2. I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party (John)
3. You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) (Debate yet to be settles)

Does Because count? Technically there are 3 self-harmonies.

On the Word John is credited with backing vocals I thought in addition to lead. I was just saying he should be labeled as the lead singer, not Paul.
With Because , it could count, but I’m not sure there there is a “lead” singer in the 9 part harmony.

Well, for “The Word “, my thinking was that Paul overdubbed a second, higher harmony vocal on the “Give the worrrrrd a chance to say…” bit, just to make it a 4-part harmony overall. But I’ll accept that that’s not the case.
…aaaand now that I’ve finally learned to read, I see that the category specifies LEAD singer, so there’s even less reason (none) to have suggested “The Word ” in the first place….…never mind.

I don’t really get this one to be honest. I thought it would make more sense to be the songs they sang by themselves and overdubbed their own harmony. Including the ones where other people also sung harmony gets into weird ambiguities about what counts as them singing lead, what counts as their harmony parts, how do we know it’s them singing that specific part and not one of the other beatles. It’s very confusing.
