‘Sgt Pepper ‘ was a single in the UK when the movie came out in the 70’s; the a-side was ‘Pepper’ and ‘With A Little Help From My Friends ‘, the b-side ‘A Day In The Life ‘.
‘Yesterday ‘ was also a single in the UK in the 1970’s, b/w ‘I Should Have Known Better ‘.
Well perhaps the topic should be something like “13 songs that were released as a single, but not contemporaneously in the UK…” to account for later issues that occurred posthumously, so to speak.

4 By The Beatles is not a Beatles song, but a US EP, and Ain’t She Sweet was a UK single on Polydor in 1964.
I know. It was the first Beatles thing I found among my parents records when I started looking through my parents records for Beatles things.
This is why I don’t like this game too much anymore. Too many wrong turns that nobody questions.

It should also be noted that the 1978 Sgt. Pepper single was released in both the US and UK.
And Yesterday became a UK single in 1976, when it reached No. 4, released to promote to the Singles Box; while Twist And Shout was the b-side of Back In The USSR in 1976 in the UK on a single to promote Rock ‘N’ Roll Music.
So far only Nowhere Man and I Saw Her Standing There are correct examples of songs that did not appear on UK singles but did on US singles.
5 of 7 wrong, folks!

I guess it would be subjective as to whether an EP counts as a single. On one hand, an EP has more than one song on a side. On the other hand, the record looks like a single and plays at 45 RPM. An EP like 4 by the Beatles would fit more than an EP like Honeydrippers Volume I which is LP sized and plays at 33 1/3.
For this list, maybe we should be loose with the definition or we will never complete it and move on to a new one. But I do enjoy the debating and the education.

Whether an EP counts as a single, @Jolly Jimmy, is neither here nor there.
The title of the list is “13 songs that were released as a single in the US but not in the UK”.
4 By The Beatles is not a song. It is an EP made up of 4 songs. There is nothing subjective about that.
The list isn’t asking for 13 releases made in the US but not the UK. 4 By The Beatles would fit great on that list.
It has no place on a list that asks for Beatles songs however, because it ain’t a song.

I would agree we need to define this one loosely or it will never end –
13 songs that were released as either A or B side of a single in the US which were not contemporaneously released as A or B side of a 2 song single in the UK…
1. Nowhere Man
2. Sgt. Pepper‘s Lonely Heart’s Club Band
3. Yesterday
4. 4 By The Beatles (4 songs from Beatles ’65 in US, Beatles For Sale elsewhere)
5. Ain’t She Sweet (on Atco label backed by Nobody’s Child)
6. Twist And Shout (I assume UK EPs don’t count as singles)
7. I Saw Her Standing There (was B-side to I Want To Hold Your Hand in US while B-Side was This Boy in UK)

Thirteen songs that appeared on US singles but not UK singles is easy.
If you’re stuck, check Joe’s discography section.
You’re still ignoring the new interpretation you’re offering, @Pablo Ramon.
Sgt. Pepper was released at the same time as a single in the UK and US. 1978. There was no US Pepper single before that.
4 By The Beatles is an EP.
Ain’t She Sweet was released in the UK and US in 1964.
It seems silly to me to have a game where wrong responses are left in place and not removed for being wrong.

I have quietly questioned some entries in the past. But I let it go since it might be more personal interpretation rather than actual fact. Also, some categories may not have 13 pure examples to make a full list. In those cases, we may get more liberal additions to complete list and avoid getting stuck in limbo. If that’s no good, maybe a moderator can declare a list to be over and start a new one. That may not be true for this one though. So here we go:
1. Nowhere Man
2. Yesterday
3. Twist And Shout (I assume UK EPs don’t count as singles)
4. I Saw Her Standing There (was B-side to I Want To Hold Your Hand in US while B-Side was This Boy in UK)
5. Do You Want To Know A Secret
