A country made out of lava.
Would you want to visit Antarctica?

What country do you never ever want to step foot in?The problem with your question, @Mr. Kite, is that the reply might be offensive to some people in the forum. There are people from all over the world here –although Americans are the majority, for sure. And one of the things I’ve learnt living abroad is that many times the place you expect to be a paradise is in fact Hell –and vice versa. I know very well where I wouldn’t like to go, but I prefer to remain silent. Sorry, just a comment.
I thought that exact same thing when posting, especially with my wording, but still decided to post for some reason.
Okay everyone, ignore my question!

Have you ever been to a country or city that you used to dream about thinking “C’mon, stop daydreaming, you’ll never go there!” –yet you did? (I did! And next one will be the Sahara)
“Forsan et haec olim meminisse juvabit” (“Perhaps one day it will be a pleasure to look back on even this”; Virgil, The Aeneid, Book 1, line 203, where Aeneas says this to his men after the shipwreck that put them on the shores of Africa)

Scotland and everywhere in that gorgeous land. Heaven on earth. Every person spends their 9 months (or so) in the womb dreaming of Scotland – a fact proved by science.

Remember in this thread you MUST ask a question when you reply the question above you. This is not the candid question thread!

Yep. It was someone that was a very dear friend. At first, I felt confused as to why. Then, I realized it did not matter as long as he is happy and I am happy.
A wise man once said “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da life goes on bra; la-la how the life goes on”.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Because there is the “candid questions” thread too and people get them mixed up (I did) why is it such a big deal?

Sometimes people have answers, but no questions. Or maybe they forget. We’re all human. Let It Be
Fine next question.

I think this is one thread which manages to keep going even when someone doesn’t follow their answer with a question so i wouldnt get too bummed or irritated if someone doesnt ask one immediately.
If someone comes here and finds there is no question set then feel free to ask one without going back to the last poster. It will speed things up.
I must say that this thread and the candid question one has become incredibly similar in feel recently, i’m not pushing or suggesting a merge but it would be good if there was a greater distinction between the two tho i’m not going to force it.
I’d rather swim in the ocean as i dont like the idea of swimming in a marsh. Better to be eaten in some nice vast expanse of warm water than in filthy cold water chocking on the mud whilst a croc eats my leg.
What’s your favourite piece of Beatle memorabilia that you own?

If you have not already met a Beatle. What outrageous thing would you to meet one? If you have already met a Beatle would you like to meet the other one? What would you do?

I’m torn over meeting a Beatle as i know fine well i’d dry up and look like an idiot before passing out and being wheeled away to the medical bay. But then its a friggin’ Beatle. I’ve also got the mentality of not wanting to bug famous folk. I have seen a few famous folk thru the years (no one huge) and i know that if it was me i’d want to be left alone to get on with my day without some bumbling oaf coming over and saying something stupid.
I’d always want to meet John or George but its too late now sadly. To meet Paul or Ringo i don’t know.
Someone else can answer.

Okay just for you mmm. If you had a Tardis to go back in time. Which Beatle would want to meet? What crazy thing would you do to meet them?

I’d probably go for George out of fear of John. John would cut me down and have me wimpering on the floor if i said anything daft whilst George would take one look and tune out so i might have a chance of getting him back on side, probably thru running out after him. Ooh, i could offer him a ride in the Tardis, heck i’d give it too him.
What would i do? If the chance came up to meet one i’d probably contemplate anything sensible like paying money, camping out for days. But any of that stupid stuff like eat a cat or run around naked painted blue and i would pass. I’m not a crazy kind of person, more the kind to shrug shoulders and walk off ruing having passed up the opportunity of a life time before trying to get it back again.
What about yourself @Sky999?
