That’s perfect, @sigh butterfly! Yes, I am a fan.
I noticed the following comment online:
“According to Dhani Harrison, son of Beatle George Harrison , the Beatles were to be in a movie similar to The Prisoner, written and directed by Patrick McGoohan, but the project fell through. McGoohan was able to convince them to allow their song All You Need Is Love to be used in the final episode; one of the only times the band permitted their music to be licensed for television.”

Good one Richard. (my reflections in the spoiler)
Next up…
Thoughts of The Prisoner generate nice family memories. For years my Mom took us kids to the drive-in see the James Bond movies. When the Secret Agent Man tv show (the precursor to The Prisoner) came on it was one of the few shows we watched together. We didn’t really get into the Prisoner until the eighties when it was shown Saturday nights on our Public Broadcasting Station. Scott Appel was the host and he would discuss the plot, symbolism, and trivia before and after each episode. He always utilized lots of props including a penny-farthing. We watched the whole series several times and it still enters our family lexicon from time to time. She doesn’t really care for the Beatles (too noisy) but she knows All You Need Is Love quite well.
Here is Scott (nice jacket).

“I was alone, I took a ride”
That’s very interesting about Scott Appel’s presentations, SB. Maybe they’ll appear on YouTube – I would like to see them.
In my opinion, The Prisoner is a great series, and I think Scott’s discussions would make it even more enjoyable for me.

Good guess Rich. In fact, way back when I think someone posted a similar image pertaining to that lyric.

May need a hint on this one (especially for any non-Yanks). This is the final stanzas of Longfellow’s epic Revolutionary War poem “Paul Revere’s Ride”.
So through the night rode Paul Revere;
And so through the night went his cry of alarm
To every Middlesex village and farm,—
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo for evermore!
For, borne on the night-wind of the Past,
Through all our history, to the last,
In the hour of darkness and peril and need,
The people will waken and listen to hear
The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed,
And the midnight message of Paul Revere.
sb: if that doesn’t do it, also it’s a cover song

Hm, the British Invasion bands of the 1960s largely trafficked in “Rock And Roll Music “…could that be the song?

Don’t worry, we’ll get there
Two days on (7 June), so I’ll post my suggestion now.
Well, early in the morning
I’m a-giving you the warning
Don’t you step on my blue suede shoes
Hey diddle diddle
I’ll play my fiddle
Nursery rhyme:
Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such fun,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
That’s a very good one, SB!
