“This happened once before”
sigh butterfly said
I think I’m finally looking in the right direction (thanks to meaigs & Rich). However I believe it’s against the rules (for good reason) to make 2 guesses in a row.
From the first post in the thread: “Only guess one song per post. Also, unless two or more days have passed, don’t post another guess until the person who posted the picture for the round has said if your guess is wrong or right.”
So it’s OK to make two guesses in a row as long as the person who posted the picture has replied in between.
(I have occasionally seen someone post a guess followed (after a brief reconsideration) by a second guess before the first guess has been specified to be right or wrong. So that’s against the rules unless two or more days have passed.)

Somewhat close-ish that time, but I don’t think you’re allowed to guess twice in a row. If you wish, I’ll consider it an official (wrong!) guess, but not until somebody offers another in the interim.

Another good thought SB, but you already took the last turn; again, consecutive guesses are not permitted.
Anyways, “Bad Boy ” isn’t it.

I think it’s allowed to make two guesses in a row as long as the person who posted the picture has replied in between. This is my understanding from the first post in this thread, which reads: “Only guess one song per post. Also, unless two or more days have passed, don’t post another guess until the person who posted the picture for the round has said if your guess is wrong or right.”
The Get Back album was rejected but has now been officially published (as part of the Let It Be : Special Edition release), so similarly is the answer a song that was rejected but later officially published? If so, there are several possible choices. For my guess this time, I’ll choose…

OK, it’s not my thread/rules, and indeed there’s nothing in that first post that specifically disallows two consecutive guess-posts from the same user, as I assumed was the case. (Certainly not gonna read through 800+ pages for clarification or updates from Ahhh Girl!) I still think it’s a simple courtesy not to do so, but whatever….
Anyways! “Not Guilty ” isn’t correct either; but (a clue) it is the closest guess to the song I’m thinking of, timewise.
Wrong x8:

Not that one, Richard, but very clever guess. And you’ve narrowed it down to the correct album!

Several lines of the lyrics can apply to some extent:
“I don’t know how someone controlled you / They bought and sold you” (could be a reference to Allen Klein’s influence)
“With every mistake we must surely be learning”
“I don’t know how you were diverted / You were perverted too” (diverting from the original song list of the Get Back album)
And in the end

I think that’s a winner Rich! Also the verse missing from the White version may fit (As I’m sitting here doing nothing but aging)
It’s funny – after reading through Rev 9 a few times for the Baker’s game, now I’m finding a lyric for every image clue. So I’ll throw “Everyone of them knew that as time went by/They’d get a little bit older and a little bit slower) into the mix.

Sorry Richard, sorry meaigs, neither guess is correct. (And further sorry, meaigs, that I didn’t see your guess while I was writing a reply to Richard; if I’d been faster, you wouldn’t have used a guess on a non-White Album track.)
OK, so we know it’s a “White Album ” track. By way of another hint, I’ll repeat myself with an important clue bolded:
note that it’s a picture of the rejected album itself
Really, the answer is gonna seem pretty obvious and on-the-nose when it’s solved!
