Hmmm, I’m torn between a few options, but I’ll go for “You Never Give Me Your Money “

I see a reflection of a car and speed-limit sign in the window, but she looks sad – as though her own personal carlessness is breaking her heart. So…“Drive My Car “?
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

@Ron Nasty Is that “Can’t Buy Me Love ” ? It’s a stretch, but see how she passes by all those things that are on sale.

This will be awfully off, but now I’m thinking about “Good Morning Good Morning “.
Explanation? Difficult, so that won’t be it, but anyway… the whole song is about one person’s voyage through a town, but it all feels bleak and grey and grim, even as the plot thickens, it feels like filling a bottomless pit of sad. And the person in the picture is walking past things, immersed in their own inner world, looking for a way to feel something strong again.
I’m half asleep now, but I had to spam the thread to let it out somehow. If anything it will bring a hint closer

I like Getting Better ‘s thinking “Everything is closed it’s like a ruin”
But just in case that isn’t it, how about: Don’t Pass Me By (I have a deal just for you…)

Time for a clue, methinks.
It is early and non-canon.

I’m starting to wonder if it’s more subliminal…

It can’t be that. Nope
Saying it’s non-canon means it’s not included on the 1987 CD releases (Please Please Me through to Let It Be , plus the US MMT and Past Masters ).

I wasn’t criticising, @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<. I was just explaining what I’d meant by “non-canon”. The phrase, along with “canon”, is used a lot around here.

You know what they say on sales… ‘Everything Must Go’… then, heh, “All Things Must Pass ” resembles the line a bit, no? ‘It’s not always going to be this grey’…
But then, while it was written when they were a group, it’s a solo Harrison, and it’s not an early song either, so that’s not it. Hmmm.
EDIT: Could it possibly be “Hello Little Girl “? ‘When I see you passing by’ (…), ‘When I try to catch your eye’ (…), ‘You never seem to see me standing there’ ?

Between Hello Little Girl [1 January 1962] and That’s All Right (Mama) [2 July 1963]. A good place to be looking.
