Hey Rich! My first thought was for the song that inspired my username because well – here is my Cavalier King Charles enjoying his Christmas toy.
But since I seriously doubt that is what you are going for, I’ll focus on the word cavalier, which means showing a lack of concern. The song that brings to mind is Ticket To Ride .
But she don’t care

I hadn’t thought along the line of spaniels, which is a slight surprise as I am a former Springer owner. Anyway..

In case Magill’s great guess isn’t correct, I’m a bit stumped so will take the deep dive.
This is an image of two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. One is the Tricolour variety and one is Blenheim. They both appear to be sleeping on a sidewalk made of brick. The Cavalier King Charles are named for the English King Charles II who famously bred them. He represented the Royal House of Stuart (Stewart).
So…There is a connection to a walkway/street, Stu Sutcliffe’s house, royalty, and of course sleeping dogs. There is an old proverb that goes “Let sleeping dogs lie” which means avoid interfering in a situation that is currently causing no problems, but might do so as a result of such interference. Maybe there is something there? Got more thunking to do!

So…there is another proverb in a Beatle’s song that has a similar meaning. “Don’t upset the apple cart” basically means to not spoil carefully made plans and leave thing as they are. Is perhaps Not Guilty the song you had in mind?

Magill’s suggestion of Golden Slumbers is the closest so far.

Surprised no-one’s tried I’m So Tired , which is a usual follow-up when I’m Only Sleeping comes up as a possibility.

Just in case Rich is in a philosophical mood, perhaps the doggies say “Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream”. As a bonus the quote is from the “To be or not to be” soliloquy which certainly echoes the final lyrics of Tomorrow Never Knows “So play the game existence to the end…of the beginning”.
