I think it has to be a song released by the Beatles. Lennon/McCartney songs that weren’t released shouldn’t be played, although what do we think about unreleased material during the time they were together that has since been released officially in anniversary sets?
"The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles!"
-Bob Dylan, Subterranean Homesick Blues
"We could ride and surf together while our love would grow"
-Brian Wilson, Surfer Girl

Thanks @kelicopter, I meant to include them. I purposely left out the Red, Blue, & Hollywood albums and didn’t realize I had skipped over Past Masters too.List is fixed.

I’ve had another inquiry, and I’d like to come to a consensus with the players of this game. Can you play a picture from commonly bootlegged song that has never appeared on an official release? If so, do any special rules need to go with the use of a bootlegged song – such as say that it is a bootlegged song?
It should be officially released. One issue going with bootlegs is that sometimes song titles are not exact which could lead to issues of consensus (my bootleg says this). There are also tracks that some bootlegs and fans argue over if it is the Beatles or not, jokingly or otherwise.
Additionally, if you go into the ‘Get Back ‘ sessions you’re looking at songs that they played one line or riff from that could be argued is legit for this game. It could become a farce if my round is ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ or ‘Blah Blah Black Sheep’. It also keeps open the game for newbies as the released material is available to easily find and hear on Spotify etc.

I think legally released rather than officially released. Songs from both the Decca audition and the Star Club recordings have previously featured in this game and I see no reason they should be excluded now since they have been legally released, if not (in the main) officially released. The Tony Sheridan recordings should also be fair game.

The picture depicts You Can’t Catch Me , which partly inspired Come Together
https://www.beatlesbible.com/p…..-catch-me/
Written and recorded by Chuck Berry in 1956, You Can’t Catch Me inspired part of The Beatles’ song ‘Come Together’. The similarity between the two led to a court case, which resulted in John Lennon recording Berry’s song for his 1975 album Rock ‘N’ Roll.
