Hmmm, looking at the picture a little closer it appears the man is holding a flashlight. How about Any Time At All

If the sun has faded away
I’ll try to make it shine

Or have you been clever and gone for No Reply  shortly after it was last an answer?

@Ron Nasty Oops! Looks like I was being clever! Not that i realised! 🙂

You are correct of course! The song i was thinking of was ‘No Reply ‘, though with some of the answers, there were better alternatives.

Over to you!

Could your song be a reference to George’s birthplace? If so, I’ll try Yellow Submarine (In the town where I was born) a-hard-days-night-george-9

Probably miles out but …

I’m A Loser

A clock tower has more than one face …

“Although I laugh and I act like a clown
Beneath this mask I am wearing a frown”

I read up on that clock tower. An inscription on it reads in part “see…how they run.” So, Lady Madonna ?

I Me Mine

as that’s probably the most autobiographical George song (of the main Beatle years anyway)

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

That is my song, @alittlebitolder, but though your reasoning is sound, because I was a little naughty, your line wasn’t what I had in mind. The line I had in mind was from the second verse of John’s first draft:

Penny Lane is one I’m missing
Up Church Road to the Clock Tower
In the circle of the Abbey
I have seen some happy hours

lyrics-in-my-life_02.jpgImage Enlarger

The Clock Tower in both my picture and the first draft was the Picton Clock Tower in Wavertree, Liverpool.

Over to you…

Thanks @Ron Nasty,  I thought Wavertree was something to do with this song, but couldn’t remember what. I remembered as soon as I saw your explanation. I lived within a few minutes walk from Penny Lane , for a few years, back in the 80s, so not far from Wavertree, but not sure I ever went there?

Anyway, enough of the reminiscing, here is theBB-101.jpgImage Enlarger

next picture!

Just a heads-up, @alittlebitolder, some members have @ names that differ from their username (some people have changed their names over the years but your @ is always the name you signed up). To @ me you need to use mja6758. There’s some poor sod called @Ron who keeps mentions aimed at me. Apologies to him.

You can find a list of those with different usernames and their @ names here should you need to check if the html @ is the same as their username.
