I think the song has to be 1967. A Day In The Life and Fixing A Hole have both been described as “very, very close in terms of the era”.

That crowd of people looks cold to me: Within You, Without You (“We were talking about the love that’s gone so cold
And the people who gain the world and lose their soul
They don’t know, they can’t see, are you one of them?”)
EDIT: Oh, wait a minute, is Within You Without You considered a George solo? Then I don’t know.
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

By jove! I seriously think I have it, at last! It fits all criteria!
1) It is “very, very close in terms of the era” to A Day In The Life and Fixing A Hole .
2) It includes a word (“people”) that has been mentioned in many guesses.
3) It includes the root word (“go”) of a word in @Starr Shine?’s cited post (“going”).
Penny Lane ? (“And all the people that come and go…”)

The obvious one is ‘Maggie Mae ‘ which name-checks Lime Street.

I was thinking either ‘Maggie Mae ‘ like mmm was or perhaps ‘In My Life ‘ due to the fact that the elevated train tracks (if that’s what the pic is) resemble the Docker’s Umbrella mentioned in John’s original lyrics.
Am I over thinking this?

Afraid nothing close yet. Maggie Mae would be far too obvious.
Just so no one is at a disadvantage, as anyone UK based will know exactly what it is in the picture by the British Rail symbol, the picture is of Liverpool’s main railway station (and no, it’s not that…!).

I, too, first thought of Maggie Mae . If it isn’t that perhaps it is One After 909 Pick up my bags. Run to the station.

That’s what I would have posted too if mine turns out to be wrong, which I think it is.

When I said “(and no it’s not that…!)” I was referring to One After 909 !
It doesn’t matter that it’s a railway station, not mentioned in the song, it matters that it’s Liverpool main terminus railway station.
My picture could just as easily be this…

Liverpool railway or airport…. Instead if departures I’ll go with arrivals. Liverpool was their home.

Afraid not.
LOL! There’s something going wrong with a picture if @Starr Shine? doesn’t guess She’s Leaving Home !She’s bound to be right one of these days with it!
The lyric I have in mind is, sort of, the opposite!
EDIT
@Mr. Kite is very close.
