Ahhh Girl, you may be on to something here. Perhaps the image isn’t specific to Elvis but instead references the look in his eyes. How about I’m Looking Through You ?
Good guess.
May also be a reference to “you were above me but not today”.

I was thinking along the same line as you guys but could not come up with a guess. Until now.
The way Elvis is lifting up his shades, maybe he is obeying the command to “open up your eyes” as in Dear Prudence .
You are all my friends.

That was my guess.

I’m Looking Through You was the other song I thought of at the time I thought of I’ve Just Seen A Face . If Face was wrong and no one else said Looking Through You, it would have been my next guess.

I have nothing to add except
“All you have to do is call And I’ll be there” (‘You’ve Got A Friend’ – James Taylor) is “All you got to do is call and I’ll be there” (‘Any Time At All – Beatles). John should have sued.
Back to the game.

@meanmistermustard , James brought up a similar subject in a recent Rolling Stone article titled My Life In 15 Songs:
“Something In The Way She Moves” (1968)
I spoke to my dad on the phone while I was living in New York, and he didn’t like the way I sounded. He was right: I was strung out, malnourished and kind of beat. He arrived the next day with the family station wagon and drove me back to North Carolina, where I had grown up. I took time to recover, and around Christmas 1967 I talked my parents into buying me a ticket to London, where I had a friend who agreed to put me up for a few weeks.
I was hoping to sing in clubs or even on the streets, but I ended up getting in touch with Peter Asher, who had just started working for Apple Records. He got me an audition with Paul McCartney and George Harrison, where I played them this song. Paul said to Peter, “You feel like producing this guy?” And Peter said, “Yeah.”
The song is about an early girlfriend and the calm you feel in the presence of someone who knows you really well. When I heard George Harrison used the title for the opening words of “Something ,” I was thrilled. I didn’t feel like I was being poached at all — besides, “Something in the Way She Moves” quotes the Beatles‘ “I Feel Fine “: “She’s around me almost all the time/And I feel fine.”

This thread is getting derailed. @sigh butterfly, I don’t hear “She’s around me almost all the time” in I Feel Fine . I don’t see it in the lyrics sites either. What am I missing?

Sorry about that AG (just having a little fun with MMM). Per you question, I believe James was just playing nice by making this comment. I don’t think he wants to come off as ungrateful after being signed as an unknown to Apple Records.

Isn’t it that Taylor mentioned ‘I Feel Fine ‘ not that the whole line (“She’s around me almost all the time/And I feel fine.”) is in the Beatles track? Same as Ringo calling “I Feel Fine ” in ‘Honey Don’t ‘.
Back to the thread and game in hand.
‘From Me To You ‘ – “Just call on me.” No idea what its got to do with Elvis tho.

And I will guess Help for the bat signal although I do not see the Elvis connection. Something tells me I am wrong.
Now that I fulfilled the proper thread obligations, I will comment on the other stuff.
Talking about “Something in the way she moves” and “I Feel Fine ” reminds me of another example from the early 70s. When watching Archie cartoons on Saturday mornings they sometimes did a song called “Comes The Sun” although they clearly sing “Here Comes The Sun “. I’ll bet they changed it due to the more popular Beatle song. On the same note, John shortened the title of Sun King because of the George song too.

@Jolly Jimmy is right: Help ! is the song.
the Elvis thing was because John used to say he wrote in his “fat Elvis” period… and the batman thing i think it’s quite evident…
Hope it all make any sense! : )
