FINALLY 
The crucial line was:
“It doesn’t really matter what clothes I wear”
And it doesn’t matter how people wear, you know… clothes don’t make the man, it’s what’s inside that counts, don’t judge people by their appearance 
The “riddle” was pretty far-fetched, I admit. But here’s how it goes – “You say yes, I say no” – it’s just the opposite of the first and third line.
“It’s important that I’m naked” – opposite is – “It doesn’t really mater what clothes I wear”, or similar to that, you could derive something.
“How do you do?” – doesn’t have the opposite, and you could say – “How do you fare?”, which is that. Baked is for they rhyme.
“My hair is not the colour of the tree” – opposite is – “My hair IS the colour of the tree”, which is brown.
And then you add up those, and end up with:
It doesn’t really matter what clothes I wear,
Or how I fare
Or if my hair is brown,
When it’s Only A Northern Song .
That’s it. I hope it makes sense, it did, in my head, at least.

Offline Have you ever seen the BBC quiz ‘Only Connect’ (new series starts tonight on BBC 2 and if you want to feel super stupid, super confused and super clever all within 30 minutes watch it) @StrawberryWalrus? You’re clue would be in the final and have all the really brainy folk applauding in sheer wonder for such fiendishness.
Its a cracking round you gave us, sometimes we need the really difficult ones.
