Also, @50yearslate, this is a really fun game, but it appears we are slowly running out of words and options and the games are getting shorter and shorter. We could only keep a record of words from a few rounds back so they don’t get repeated from too recently, or we could add solo songs. Just some suggestions.

Offline I don’t think repeating words is a good idea because then the guesses will repeat and it’ll just be playing the same game with different answers. Solo songs would be a lot harder and longer because there’s probably well over a thousand songs between their careers and I don’t know solo nearly as well as Beatles.

I think that’s a good thing. We’re getting to the point where we’re lucky if the game lasts longer than two to three guesses.

I think that’s a good thing. We’re getting to the point where we’re lucky if the game lasts longer than two to three guesses.
I think adding solo songs would make the game longer without making it fun. There’d be a lot more random guessing, and i think it would get too long. I think the times when this game has only been 2 or 3 guesses are more lucky coincidences than anything else.
I don’t see myself wanting to play this game at all if solo songs were included. It requires not just listening to all of the solo songs once (which already would take a long time, but also knowing all the solo songs as well as i know beatles songs which would require multiple listens, and it would take me a long time to do if I even wanted to do that. That’s the kind of knowledge required that would make this game not fun and would reduce it to googling “solo beatles song with x word.” The fun of actually thinking if it because you know the songs well enough is completely gone, at least for me.
TL;DR If we added solo songs the options would be too overwhelming and I wouldn’t want to play anymore.

Offline Well, we need to come up with something better or otherwise we’ll run out of options. There’s pretty much no way around it. We could, at the beginning of each round, be required to say what category it is (ex. solo George, Beatles, etc.) so you could choose to play or not based on your familiarity with that category (for example, if the category was “solo Ringo” I would probably choose not to play, simply because I’m not super familiar with his solo work).
