What would you all say to playing “Third Letter Lyric Game”? You would use the third letter of the lyric you see to pick your lyric to add.
So if someone posts “Skip the rope, Look At Me “, the next lyric would begin with the letter I.

I feel like that’d get confusing fast…
And I think Bulldog did the same thing a while back with House of Wax and I found a way out.
Either way people should play the story game ’cause @Starr Shine? is really anxious to continue it!

So according to page 54 (Wow that’s almost exactly half the thread away.) we continued from it with Happy Xmas, although there was some rule twisting and @Bulldog was still proclaimed winner número uno.
We could do the same or start from a brand new lyric chosen by @Oudis, (now dubbed the second stumper).

Not using the usual spelling for it, we could use:
Xmas time is here again,
Xmas time is here again,
Xmas time is here again,
Ain’t been ’round since you know when,
Xmas time is here again,
O-U-T spells “out”

Seems silly to me to use a different spelling when it suits. On that basis can i substitute “Cold Turkey has got me” for “Kold Turkey”? Once the spelling rule goes out then for me the whole thing becomes diminished.
If x is to be used then use xmas from ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’, it wouldn’t be the first time partial sentence lyrics have been used. If not start again with Oudis selecting the lyric after becoming the first champion of the game.

@meanmistermustard That’s a very good point. So Happy Xmas it is?
And Oudis is Champ #2, Bulldog did the same thing a while back.

Xmas is a legitimate alternate spelling of Christmas, it’s in the dictionary. Kold is not a legitimate alternate spelling of Cold, as it’s not in the dictionary. Happy Xmas (War Is Over) doesn’t use the Xmas spelling in the lyric but Christmas, and I was just looking for a comparable that had the word at the beginning of a line rather than somewhere in a line.

In Christmas Time (Is Here Again) the letter is C not X, ever anywhere. At least in Happy Xmas the X is in the song title – if not the lyric. That’s why i used K for Cold, if we just substitute letters why not just use ones that sound the same, like rappers do? Krazy tho it may be.

I was considering using “(E)xpert texpert choking smokers…” lyric but I decided not to. So I’ve voted for “With a new lyric from Oudis” option.
And I didn’t know the game could ever be stalled and one could be declared a winner. Note to self: gotta be meticulous now when choosing a lyric.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree, @meanmistermustard. You don’t like legitimate alternate spellings that change the first letter of a word, and think that’s a bad solution and think it defeats the purpose of the game. I don’t like when people use part of the line to get the right letter and think it defeats the purpose of the game. In fact, more than once during the game people have been criticised for the partial use of lines, and their turns have been voided.
We’re both looking for solutions other than the AD40 solution. I’ve voted for the Oudis solution.
